APPSC Exam 2024: Dates, Exam Pattern, Admit Card Details & Result

APPSC Exam 2024: Andhra Pradesh State Service Commission exam will take place in 2024. The registration process for Group 1 started on Janaury 1, 2024. Candidates who wish to appear for the APPSC Group 1 exams for 81 service posts were able to register at the official website, psc.ap.gov.in till January 21. Candidates can check the APPSC exam pattern for the same on the official website. 

The APPSC exams 2024 are conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.  APPSC exam takes place in three stages which are APPSC Prelims, APPSC Mains, and APPSC Interview. Candidates have to clear all three stages of the exam to get recruited for the post which they have applied for.

• APPSC group 2 prelims result was declared on April 10, 2024. 
• The initial answer key for APPSC Group 1 exam was released on March 18, 2024.
• The APPSC Group 1 prelims exam 2024 was successfully held on March 17, 2024. 
• The APPSC Group 2 prelims exam 2024 was successfully conducted on February 25, 2024.
• The result for Group 2 prelims will be released on the official website around a month later.

It should be noted that the APPSC prelims and mains admit card is released separately. This means that the APPSC Prelims 2024 admit card will be released before the commencement of the preliminary exam. Similarly, the APPSC Mains admit card 2024 will also be released before the commencement of the exam. 

Meanwhile, the first step which will help the candidate to appear for the APPSC Exam 2024 is to check the APPSC eligibility criteria. After that, candidates are required to fill in the APPSC application form 2024. 

The APPSC exam is a state-level exam and takes place once a year. The exam is conducted in offline mode. There are 4 groups for the APPSC exam, and the groups offer different posts to candidates. The APPSC official notification consists of a syllabus, exam pattern and marking scheme. Hence, candidates appearing for the examination should first check the official notification before beginning the preparation. 

APPSC Exam 2024

APPSC is a recruitment exam which is conducted for those candidates who wish to be recruited at the administration level under different departments of the Andhra Pradesh government. Candidates who are preparing for the APPSC exam are advised to go through the eligibility criteria first before applying for the examination. Candidates must know that the APPSC is a civil service examination for Andhra Pradesh.

APPSC Exam 2024: Application Process 

The application form for APPSC has been released by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission. Before filling out the application process, candidates must check the eligibility criteria laid out by the education body in order to appear for the examination. Candidates have to fill out the application form once for prelims, and then once the candidate has qualified for the prelims will then appear for the mains exam. 

APPSC 2024: Application Fees 

Candidates can take a look at the following fee structure for different candidates belonging to different categories. 

The applicants belonging from the general category have to pay a processing charge of Rs. 80, along with the examination fee of Rs. 200. Candidates belonging from the reserved categories do not have to pay the processing charge.

APPSC Admit Card 2024

The APPSC prelim and mains admit card is released by the APPSC on the official website. Candidates can download their admit card by visiting the official website and logging in. Since the recruitment exam has three stages - prelims, mains, and interview, the education body releases hall tickets for each stage separately. 

The APPSC Group 2 prelims exam is set to take place on February 25, 2024. Those candidates who will successfully fill out the application form will be able to get their APPSC Group 2 prelims admit card. Further, hall tickets are an essential documen t as they consist of several important pieces of information including name of the candidate, reference ID, father's name and other information. Appearing candidates are required to download the admit cards and print a hard copy as well.

APPSC Exam Dates 2024

Candidates must be well-versed with the APPSC dates as this information plays an essential role for candidates. APPSC Group 2 Prelims exam was held on February 25, 2024. Meanwhile, APPSC Group 1 Prelims exam is scheduled to be held on March 17, 2024. The exam conducting body will release the admit card for the same on psc.ap.gov.in.

Currently, the registration process for Group 2 is open for the interested candidates. Once the registration is complete, APPSC will prepare and release the official date sheet for the examination on the official website. 

APPSC Exam 2024: Syllabus 

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission releases the APPSC syllabus for prelims and mains exams. Candidates are advised to check the syllabus thoroughly first before beginning the preparation of the examination. Needless to say, the APPSC syllabus plays an essential role for candidates who are appearing in the exam. The APPSC mains exam syllabus consists of two qualifying papers and five merit-ranking papers. Further, candidates must know that the syllabus for prelim and mains are different. 

APPSC Exam 2024: Exam Pattern 

APPSC releases the APPSC Prelim and mains exam pattern along with the official brochure at psc.ap.gov.in. The APPSC exam pattern is released in the form of a PDF. The exam pattern sheds light on the maximum number of weightage of questions from specific topics, in which mode the exam will be conducted, and others.

APPSC Prelims: Exam Pattern 

Candidates are recommended to check the exam pattern before planning to take the APPSC Prelim exam. The APPSC prelim exam has two papers and both the papers are MCQ type.  The test is given in an offline format. In addition, the exam has negative markings, and one-third of the marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. On the other hand, the exam carries a total of 120 marks because each question is of 1 mark.

APPSC Mains: Exam Pattern 

The APPSC mains exam is conducted in offline mode. Moreover, there are seven descriptive papers in the test, each worth 150 marks. The test also includes Telugu and English qualifying exams.

APPSC Exam 2024: Results

APPSC prelims and mains results are declared by the APPSC on the official website. Candidates can use the official website to view the APPSC results. The results will be released in the PDF format and candidates can check their roll number in that document. Meanwhile, the APPSC has already conducted the APPSC prelim exam and has also released the results for the same. 

Candidates who end up qualifying for the prelims stage become eligible to appear for the APPSC mains exam. Those candidates who will clear the APPSC mains exam will then appear for the APPSC interview round.   

To pass the exam, candidates must score a minimum qualifying percentage. Students who fall under the SC, ST, and PH categories must achieve a score of 30% in order to pass the test, whereas open-category applicants must achieve a score of 40%. In comparison, applicants in the open category must receive at least 96 marks to pass the test, while SC, ST, and PH candidates must receive 72 marks to be eligible to take the test.
