APPSC Exam Pattern 2024: The APPSC Prelims and Main Group 1 exam pattern is released by the Commission on the official website. The exam pattern was released in the form of a PDF on the website. Apart from the syllabus, APPSC exam pattern also plays an essential role in a candidate's preparation.

With the right knowledge of exam patterns, candidates can easily ace their exam preparation. The aim of the exam pattern is to shed light on how many marks a specific subject carries, in which mode the exam will be conducted, and others. Candidates should note that the exam pattern for APPSC prelims and main exams are different. Hence, candidates should check the exam pattern for both stages. APPSC Prelims, also known as the screening exam, has two papers, and each paper has 120 questions. The exam consists of negative markings, and one-third mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. On the other hand,  the Mains exam has seven papers, and the first two papers are in English and Telugu. The paper doesn't have any negative marking in the exam, and a total of 3 hours is given to attempt each paper.

APPSC Prelims Group 1 Exam Pattern 2024

Candidates who tend to appear for the APPSC Prelim exam are advised to check the exam pattern.  The APPSC prelim exam has two papers and both the papers are MCQ type. The exam is conducted in offline mode. Further, the exam has negative markings and one-third of marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. On the other hand,  each question carries 1 mark which makes the total marks of the exam 120. 

APPSC Mains Group 1: Exam Pattern 

The candidates who will successfully clear the prelim exam will be then eligible to appear for the APPSC Mains exam. The exam is conducted in offline mode. On the other hand, the exam has a total of 7 descriptive papers and each paper has 150 marks. The exam also consists of two qualifying papers: English and Telugu. 

NOTE: Candidates can answer the question in English, Telugu or Urdu depending on what language the candidate has chosen in the application. 

Further, candidates should note that these  5 papers are required to be written in the same language.

Apart from the APPSC exam pattern and marking scheme, candidates are advised to also check the APPSC Group 1 exam syllabus. Candidates should know that the syllabus for Prelims and Mains is completely different. Hence, candidates are advised to check the syllabus thoroughly.
