MGU Admission 2024: Mahatma Gandhi University provides a broad range of courses in multiple disciplines. From basic entry-level UG and PG courses to diploma and certificate programs and PhD level courses are all offered at MGU.

Mahatma Gandhi University offers admission to various PG courses through the Common Admission Test (CAT). It must be noted that students are eligible for admission to courses offered by university departments/schools through the Common Admission Test (CAT). For admission to various UG and PG courses in affiliated colleges of MGU, students are required to go through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).

Along with the university-level entrance exams, MGU also considers scores of national and state-level entrance exams for admission. For instance, CAT, KEAM, etc. are taken into account for offering admission to MGU.

Students willing to take admissions at MGU must fulfil the common eligibility criteria for different domains. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 in relevant disciplines are required for admission to UG courses. While for PG admissions, the candidate must be a graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in relevant subjects. However, the final selection will be based on the scores of required qualifying exams. 

Some of the MGU courses are B.Sc, BBA, BA, B.Com, M.Sc, M.A, ME, MCA. While B.E/B. Tech, MTech, MBA, and B.Sc are some of the flagship courses.

MGU CAT registration has not begun yet, but as per the official website, the tentative dates for commencement of admissions are around 15 th of February and exams are expected to be held in May.

MGU UG Admission: Eligibility Criteria

Mentioned below are the basic academic eligibility criteria for admission to various UG courses before university-level entrance exams in multiple disciplines.

• For admission to BA

Aspiring Applicants must have completed 12th or equivalent from a recognized Board, with a minimum 45 % aggregate marks or equivalent.

• For admission to B.Sc

Interested candidates must have completed their Class 12 in PCB/M (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics) subjects. 

• For admission to B.Com

Students must have completed their 12th in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

• For admission to BBA

Interested candidates must have completed their 12th in any discipline with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate.

• For admission to BCA

Aspiring candidate must have completed their 12th standard with at least 50% marks from a recognized board, criteria can vary as per the specification chosen.

MGU UG Admission 2024: Selection Criteria 

Admission to the mentioned undergraduate programs is done based on relevant national and state-level qualifying exams, for few courses admissions are completely merit-based.

MGU PG Admission: Eligibility Criteria 

Mentioned below are the common academic eligibility criteria for admission to various PG courses before university-level entrance exams in multiple disciplines.

• For admission to MA

Interested candidates should have completed their 3-year BA program with at least 50% marks in the relevant subjects. 

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory subjects. 

• For admission to M.Sc

Interested candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Science from a recognized college/university with a minimum of 50 – 60% marks. Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory studied subjects. 

• For admission to M.Com

Interested candidates must have passed with 50% marks in aggregate in B.Com, BBA (any stream), or BA Economics from a recognized university..

• For admission to MCA,

Interested candidates must have 10+2 from the science stream. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the same discipline.

MGU PG Admission 2024: Selection Criteria 

Admission to the mentioned Postgraduate programs is made based on the university-level entrance exam i.e. MGU CAT for major courses along with considering the scores of relevant national and state level exams like CAT, KMAT, GATE, KEAM, KLEE, and others as per course chosen.

MGU BTech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Candidates willing must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

The subjects include Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional.

Selection Criteria - Scores of state-level exam i.e. KEAM are considered for final selection.

MGU MBA Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Interested students must have a graduate degree in any discipline, with at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university. 

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory subjects.

Selection Criteria - Scores of CAT/MAT/XAT, CMAT, KMAT, and Karnataka PG CET will be considered for admissions.

MGU LLB Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria -  Aspiring students must have passed their 12th with at least 45% marks in aggregate for the General Category & 42% marks in aggregate for the SC/ST category from any stream. 

Selection Criteria - Scores of KLEE are considered for admissions

MGU MTech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Aspiring Applicants must hold a BE/BTech degree.

Candidates are required to appear in GATE exams to become eligible for MTech. 

Selection Criteria - Candidates need to appear for a university-level exam i.e. MGU CAT along with consideration of valid GATE scores.

MGU  PhD Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria -  Interested students must have done their masters from any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades.

For different specializations, students must have studied the relevant subjects in their post-graduation.

Selection Criteria - Final selection includes - 

Scores of entrance exams held by the university or government bodies such as UGC, CSIR, ICAR, ICSSR, and ICMR or national-level exams NET / SLET / GATE / GPAT / JEST.

Fellowship Awardees from UGC / CSIR / KSCSTE / DST / INSPIRE / DBT / MANF / RGNF / NFSE / NFOBC are not required to appear for entrance exams.

Doctoral interviews will be held with the shortlisted candidates.
