UPSC EPFO Exam 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the recruitment notification for the posts of Personal Assistant in EPFO. A total of 323 vacancies have been released. UPSC will conduct the EPFO exam 2024 on July 7, 2024, as per the official schedule.

The commission released the EPFO notification on March 7, 2024. The UPSC EPFO notification contains details like eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, and exam centres. The EPFO application form was also released along with the notification with a deadline to apply till March 27, 2024. UPSC EPFO exam is conducted for various posts including Enforcement Officer (EO), Accounts Officer (AO) as well as Personal Assistant (PA) in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization.

UPSC EPFO Salary

The duties of Personal Assitant in EPFO include taking dictation and typing from officer concerned, handling phone calls of members and field offices, maintaining engagements, preparing tour programmes and travel arrangements, handling parliamentary work, keeping track of files and important papers and monitoring management system of important references.

EPFO Pay Scale & Grade Pay - Personal Assistant 

Candidates selected for the post of Personal Assistant are classified as Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC, that is, the basic pay for EPFO PA is INR 44,900.

Candidates selected for the EPFO EO/AO position are classified as Non-ministerial General Central Service Group "B" employees. UPSC EPFO Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Personal Assistant

Candidates preparing for the exam must fulfil the EPFO eligibility criteria in order to take the exam. Aspirants failing to fulfil the eligibility requirements will be barred from the exam process at any stage. The eligibility criteria for the EPFO exam is divided into three categories: Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification.

Nationality

Candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African
countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

Note: A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Essential Qualifications

Following qualifications are required for the post of EPFO Personal Assistant.

• A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University.
• Dictation for a period of 10 minutes with a Speed of 120 words per minute in Stenography (English or Hindi).
• Transcription time for the dictation taken should be 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi) only on Computer.

UPSC EPFO Eligibility Criteria for EO/AO

UPSC EPFO eligibility criteria for the posts of Enforcement officers and Account officers is given below.

Nationality

A Candidate must be either:

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, or
• a subject of Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 01, 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
• a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Note: The Commission may take into account the application of a candidate for whom a certificate of eligibility is necessary. If the applicant is recommended for appointment, that person may also be given a provisional appointment pending the Government of India's issuance of the necessary certificate.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the educational requirements outlined in the official notification in order to sit for the CAPF exam in 2024. The CAPF educational standards are divided into two categories: Qualifications that are required and preferred. The following list includes both the candidate's essential and desirable qualifications in detail:

Minimum Essential Qualification

It is required that candidates hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or institution in any discipline.

Minimum Desirable Qualification

Candidates who possess the desired qualification will be given preference over those who only possess the essential qualification. The following lists the desired educational prerequisites as stated in the official EPFO notification.

• Bachelor’s degree in Law/Five year Integrated degree in law

Candidates possessing MBA/PGDM degree will fulfill the desired qualification criteria

Company Secretary/Chartered Accountants/Cost and Management Accountant

• Candidates should have two years of management, accounting, or legal experience in a publicly listed private or governmental organization.

EPFO Exam Pattern

To hire individuals for the position of Enforcement Officer/Account Officer in the Employees' Provident Fund Organization, UPSC administers the EPFO exam in a pen-and-paper format (EPFO). For the written exam, candidates with physical disabilities will receive 20 minutes of additional time. Additionally, they will be given the facility of scribe.

UPSC will release the EPFO results following the written exam. For the interview round, the selected candidates are notified. Written and interview rounds of the EPFO exam are weighted 75:25.

The EPFO written exam is divided into Parts A and B. EPFO Selection Process

There are two stages to the UPSC EPFO Selection Process for the AO/EO recruitment exam. You must pass both of the following stages in order to be qualified to work as an enforcement officer for UPSC EPFO, Ministry of Labour and Employment:

• First Stage: Written Exam
• Second Stage: Interview

The ratio of the above stages will be used to prepare the final merit list, which will be 75:25. The selected candidate will also serve a two-year probationary period.

EPFO Result 2024

After the written exam is over, UPSC releases the EPFO results. The names and roll numbers of the selected applicants are included in the result, which is made public as a PDF. Only after the EPFO selection process is over will the marks be made public. Candidates are invited to the interview round if they pass the written exam. The weighted ratio for the written exam and the interview is 75:25.

• The PDF will be displayed when you click it on the given link
• To find your name or roll number, press ctrl+F.

How to Fill EPFO DAF Form?

In the event that a candidate passes the written exam and is invited to the interview round, they must complete the detailed application form (DAF). Candidates will be disqualified if they do not complete the DAF form and submit it subsequently. Additionally, candidates are advised to print their detailed application form. The following are the steps to complete the DAF:

• Check out the UPSC website.
• On the homepage, click "DAF: Enforcement Officer - Accounts Officer, EPFO."
• Select the DAF link.
• You can access the portal using the login information you registered.
• The form must be filled out with the required information, then it must be sent.
• After completing and submitting the form, print a copy for your records.

EPFO Cutoff 2024

When the selection process is done, the Union Public Service Commission publishes the EPFO cutoff. The cutoff indicates the minimum marks that candidates must receive in order to be included in the final merit list. The remaining candidates will be added to the reserve list if more applicants pass the exam than there are released vacancies.

When two candidates receive the same marks, the older candidate will be taken into consideration for the final recommendation, per the EPFO tie-breaking policy rule.
