SSC CGL Syllabus 2024: The Staff Selection Commission has released the syllabus of SSC CGL 2024 along with the announcement of notification. The SSC CGL syllabus PDF will provide comprehensive information to candidates who will be appearing for the SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam. The syllabus of SSC CGL is divided in two parts - Tier 1 Syllabus and Tier 2 Syllabus. While Tier 3 and Tier 4 are document verification and physical test rounds so there is no specified syllabus prescribed for these two rounds. 

The SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 syllabus consists of Quantitative Aptitude, English, General Awareness and Reasoning in common with variance in question difficulty level. However, the Tier 2 exam will have some additional sections including CPT and DEST.  As per the notification, SSC CGL exam pattern has been revised, therefore candidates have to thoroughly understand the SSC syllabus to secure qualifying marks in various stages of the examination.

SSC CGL Syllabus 2024

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL syllabus 2024 along with the detailed notification. As per the revised SSC CGL exam pattern, three will separate syllabi for both phases of the examination - Tier 1 and Tier 2. The questions will comprise of topics as mentioned in the SSC CGL 2024 revised syllabus. Candidates appearing for the SSC CGL 2024 should attune themselves with the revised exam pattern and syllabus. Candidates appearing for the exam need to understand subject-wise SSC CGL syllabus for Tier 1 and 2 for successfully cracking the recruitment examination. Through this article, we aim to provide detailed information regarding the SSC CGL 2024 revised examination syllabus.

The SSC CGL Tier 1 syllabus will be divided into 4 sections – General Intelligence Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. The SSC CGL Tier I exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 200 marks.The examination will be Computer Based Test and the duration of the examination will be 60 minutes (one hour). SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

As per the SSC CGL Exam pattern, the Tier 2 Examination will have 3 papers– Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. Paper 1 will be compulsory for all the candidates who have qualified for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all the sections of Paper-I.

Paper II is for candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, while Paper III is for candidates applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer positions.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus: Section 1 

Section 1 of SSC CGL Tier 2 will consist of 2 modules – Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning and General Intelligence. Each module will have 30 multiple-choice questions which have to be attempted in 1 hour. Moreover, each question in both modules will be of 3 marks. The maximum score for this section is 180 marks. 

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus: Mathematical Abilities (Module 1)

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus: English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness (Section 2 )

Section 2 of SSC CGL Tier 2 comprises English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness. This section will have the maximum weightage in Paper 1 containing a total of 70 questions of 3 marks each. The English Language & Comprehension will have 45 questions while the General Awareness. The section will consist of 25 questions.

SSC CGL 2024 Syllabus Tier 2: General Awareness Section 2 (Module 2)

In this section, questions are designed to test the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 Syllabus Section 3: Computer Knowledge (Module 1)

This section of Paper 1 aims to check the computer compatibility of the candidates appearing for SSC CGL recruitment. In the part 1 of this section, candidates will have to appear for the Computer Knowledge test and attempt 20 questions in 15 min. The second part of the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 (Section 3) is a Data Entry Skill test (DEST) where the candidates showcase their typography speed.

SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) Syllabus 

The Computer Knowledge Test (CPT) is part of Section 3 of Paper 1. This section primarily focuses on examining the candidates’ knowledge of computers, compatibility with Internet technology and understanding of cyber security. The detailed SSC CGL Tier 2 Computer Knowledge Test is mentioned in below:

  • Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/ output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back- up devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer. Keyboard shortcuts.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus: Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)

  • The candidates will be given a passage of nearly 2,000 key depressions for which they will have 15 minutes to demonstrate their skills in data entry.
  • The SSC CGL DEST will be mandatory for all the posts. However, the exam will be qualifying in nature. The detailed instructions regarding the Skill Test will be provided by the Regional Offices of the Commission.
  • Candidates participating in the SSC CGL 2024 with OH category will be exempted from attempting DEST. PwBD candidates who are eligible for scribes will be given an additional 5 minutes for the skill test.

Candidates opting for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation will have to appear for Paper 2 in the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 exam. The detailed SSC CGL Statistics syllabus is mentioned below:

Candidates applying for the Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer post will have to appear for Paper 3 of the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 Exams. The examination will consist of 100 questions and the duration of the General Studies-Finance and Economics paper will be 2 hours.
