UP Police Constable 2024: Eligibility Criteria 

UPPRPB has set certain eligibility criterias for all candidates who aim to join the UP Police force as Constables. These requirements pertain to age criteria, nationality and minimum education qualifications. Nationality 

For recruitment, it is essential that the candidate is a citizen of India. Individuals who are Tibetan refugees or of Indian origin who have migrated from other South-Asian countries are also eligible. 

Age Criteria 

The age criteria differs for candidates depending upon the category they belong to. 

  • All candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years of age. 
  • Age limit relaxation is provided only to candidates belonging to OBC, SC and ST categories. 

Minimum Education Qualification 

Candidates must have passed 10th and 12th Class from any established Indian Board or possess any equivalent qualification from an organisation recognised by the government. 

UP Police Constable 2024: Selection Process

The UP Police Constable Exam 2024 selection process consists of two phases including a Written Examination (Phase I), Document verification followed by Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test (Phase II). 

  • Written Examination: Candidates whose applications are accepted must take a 300-mark offline written exam. The exam is objective in nature and tests General Knowledge, Hindi Language Ability, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude/Reasoning. 
  • Document Verification & Physical Standard Test (PST) : Candidates who pass the written exam proceed to document verification, where their original certificates are checked. In the PST, candidates must meet a minimum height requirement.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This test is qualifying in nature. Male candidates must complete a 4.8 km race in 25 minutes, while female candidates must complete a 2.4 km race in 14 minutes.

The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the written exam. The merit list will be published on the UPPRPB website, uppbpb.gov.in. In case of a tie, candidates with preferential qualifications or older age are given priority.

UP Police Constable 2024: Application Form

The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Exam 2024 registration process is conducted online through the official website, uppbpb.gov.in. The registration process began on December 27, 2023 and application forms were closed on January 18, 2024. The application fee for the UP Police Constable Exam 2024 is ₹400 for General/OBC/EWS candidates which is to be paid online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI during the application process. The UP Police Constable Exam 2024 is an offline exam featuring 150 objective questions, with a total of 300 marks. The subjects covered include General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical & Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude/Intelligence Quotient & Reasoning Ability. Each correct answer earns 2 marks, while a penalty of 0.5 marks is applied for each incorrect answer.
