SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024 - The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the eligibility criteria for the post of sub inspector in Delhi Police on its official website, ssc.nic.in. Candidates aspiring for the exam can look at the criteria carefully. 

SSC CPO 2024 notification provides the detailed information about the vacancies for various different posts, eligibility, application process, application fee and pattern of the exam and various other important information.

The SSC CPO eligibility for the post of sub inspector for Delhi Police can be viewed on the basis of nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and relaxations under various categories. The dates for the SSC CPO 2024 are June 27, June 28 and June 29, 2024.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria given below to apply for the SSC CPO 2024 examination.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Nationality 

The candidates wishing to apply for the SSC CPO exam must fulfill either one of the following criteria in relation to their nationality.

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, or
• a subject of Bhutan.

Note: Candidates who are a subject of Nepal or Bhutan should have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. These candidates will be admitted to the examination without the certificate but an offer of appointment will be given only after the certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit

The minimum age limit for the exam is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years as on  August 01, 2024. To be eligible for the exam, a candidate must be born not earlier than August 02, 1999 and not later than August 01, 2004. However , there are certain upper age limit relaxations for several categories. Candidates can take a look at the age relaxations provided for SSC CPO exam in the table given below.

For the post of SI in Delhi Police (Category codes 12 and 13)

For departmental candidates of Delhi police against the vacancies of Delhi Police only (Category codes 17, 18 and 19):

Departmental candidates among Constables, Head Constables and Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Delhi Police with minimum 3 years of service can also apply for the post of Sub-Inspector(GD) in CAPF and Sub-Inspector executive (Male/Female) in Delhi Police. The age relaxation for these candidates are as follows.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for the SSC CPO exam is a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. A candidate who has appeared in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can also apply. However, they must produce the bachelor’s degree or equivalent before the cut-off date i.e., August 1, 2024.

SSC CPO Physical Eligibility Criteria 2024

Along with the written test, candidates have to take some physical tests for fulfilling certain physical fitness criteria. The physical requirements that are tested in Physical Standard Test(PST) are height, weight and chest. However,  the Physical Endurance Test(PET) includes races, long jump and high jump.

SSC CPO Physical Standard Test(PST) 

The physical standard test(PST) has a criteria for height, weight and chest size for candidates belonging to various categories. The following chart shows the physical eligibility criteria.

Weight: Weight of the candidates should be in correspondence to their height for all the posts.

SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET) 2024

For male candidates:

• 100 meter race in 16 seconds
• 1.6 kilometer race in 6.5 minutes
• Long Jump: 3.65 meter in 3 chances
• High jump : 1.2 meter in 3 chances
• Short put(16 lbs): 4.5 meter in 3 chances

For female candidates:

• 100 meter race in 18 seconds
• 800 meter race in 4 minutes
• Long Jump: 2.7 meter in 3 chances
• High jump : 0.9 meter in 3 chances

Note: PST and PET will not carry marks but will be of qualifying test.
