SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Nationality
The candidates wishing to apply for the SSC CPO exam must fulfill either one of the following criteria in relation to their nationality.
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan.
Note: Candidates who are a subject of Nepal or Bhutan should have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. These candidates will be admitted to the examination without the certificate but an offer of appointment will be given only after the certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit
The minimum age limit for the exam is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years as on August 01, 2024. To be eligible for the exam, a candidate must be born not earlier than August 02, 1999 and not later than August 01, 2004. SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2024: Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification for the SSC CPO exam is a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. A candidate who has appeared in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can also apply. However, they must produce the bachelor’s degree or equivalent before the cut-off date i.e., August 1, 2024.
SSC CPO Physical Eligibility Criteria 2024
Along with the written test, candidates have to take some physical tests for fulfilling certain physical fitness criteria. The physical requirements that are tested in Physical Standard Test(PST) are height, weight and chest. However, the Physical Endurance Test(PET) includes races, long jump and high jump.

SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET) 2024
For male candidates:
- 100 meter race in 16 seconds
- 1.6 kilometer race in 6.5 minutes
- Long Jump: 3.65 meter in 3 chances
- High jump : 1.2 meter in 3 chances
- Short put(16 lbs): 4.5 meter in 3 chances
For female candidates:
- 100 meter race in 18 seconds
- 800 meter race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump: 2.7 meter in 3 chances
- High jump : 0.9 meter in 3 chances
Note: PST and PET will not carry marks but will be of qualifying test.
