Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2026: The Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission (BPSSC) will be conducting the Bihar Daroga (Police SI) Mains Exam on May 27, 2026. The exam will be held offline across two shifts: Shift 1 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Shift 2 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The admit card for the Bihar Daroga (Police SI) Mains Exam has been made available from May 13. Earlier the prelims exam for Bihar Police was held between January 18 to 21, 2026. The result of the pre exam was announced on March 16, 2026. The notification for the Bihar Police SI Recruitment is released on BPSSC’s official website, bpssc.bih.nic.in. The admit card for this year’s mains examination process has been released and candidates can dowmload their admit card from the official website.

Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2026: Exam Pattern

The Bihar Police SI exam is divided into prelims, mains, personal interview, and physical fitness tests. Candidates have to pass all the stages of the selection process in order to get the post of Sub Inspector. The stage-wise exam pattern for BPSSC SI is as follows:

Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria 

Aspiring students who wish to be recruited for the post of Sub Inspector in Bihar Police must fulfil the eligibility criteria. The educational qualification, age requirements, and physical standards required from the candidates are as follows:

Educational qualification

• Students must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institute to apply for the BPSSC SI exam.
• Candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for the exam.

Age limit

• The minimum age limit to apply for the Bihar Police SI post is 20 years
• The maximum age limit to apply for the BPSSC SI post is 37 years.
• Female candidates can apply till the age of 40 years.

Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2026: Application Form 

BPSSC SI application form is typically released in October, every year. The registration process is conducted online through BPSSC’s website, bpssc.bih.nic.in. The application portal will tentatively remain open till November, 2026. Students who fulfil the above-mentioned eligibility criteria can apply for the exam. The steps to fill out the application form are as follows:

• Candidates must visit the BPSSC website, bpssc.bih.nic.in and click on the link related to ‘ Apply online for Bihar Police Sub Inspector’.
• After being redirected to the new page, fill in the necessary details such as candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, parents’ names, address, category and education qualifications correctly. 
• Ensure that you are using a valid email address and mobile number to register and review the registration form thoroughly. 
• Pay the application fee to complete the application process. Download the submitted application for future reference.

Bihar Police SI Registration: Can I edit the application form? 

Applicants are advised to fill and review the BPSSC Registration Form attentively to avoid any mistakes the registration will be cancelled if the details are not accurate. BPSSC does not allow candidates to make any changes in the application form after the registration fee has been paid. However, it is possible to change or modify your details before the fee payment by clicking on the ‘Edit details’ button before submission. 

If the candidate has registered with wrong details and made the payment, they can cancel their registration by using the ‘Cancel Registration Form provision’. However, the application fee is non refundable and candidates will have to fill the application form and pay the fee again in order to register for the examination.
