CEED Exam 2027 - The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, will conduct the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) on January 17, 2027. It will tentatively release the application form for the CEED in October, 2026. Candidates can apply for the UCEED exam 2027 on the official website -  uceed.iitb.ac.in. The authorities have not yet released the official date for the start of the application form. 

IIT Bombay conducts the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) exam for students who wish to secure admission to postgraduate and doctoral design courses, such as M.Des and PhD. CEED exam scores are accepted by several IITs such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and other top institutes like IISc Bangalore, IIITDM Jabalpur and IIITDM Kancheepuram.

Aspirants preparing for the CEED 2027 must be aware of the exam pattern and syllabus. As per the CEED exam pattern, the question paper consists of two parts - Part A and Part B. The first part carries 150 marks, while the second carries 100 marks. Part B is offline; students have to answer it in the booklet provided by the invigilator. CEED Syllabus 2027 includes topics like Visualisation and spatial reasoning, Practical and scientific knowledge, Environment and society, and many others. CEED Eligibility Criteria 2027

IIT Bombay will specify the detailed eligibility requirements to appear for the CEED exam 2027 in the official brochure released by IIT Bombay. As per the last year's CEED eligibility criteria, students must have a graduation degree in a relevant discipline in order to appear for the exam. Students who have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) are also eligible for the exam.

It must also be noted that for final admission, students must fulfil the eligibility criteria of their desired institute or college as it may vary from the ‘generic’ eligibility requirements. 

There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Also, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.

CEED Registration 2027

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, will start the CEED 2027 registration process in October 2026, and the last date to apply for the exam will tentatively be at the end of October 2026. Candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria can fill out the registration form through the official website - ceed.iitb.ac.in. To successfully register for the exam, applicants have to sign up with their valid Email ID and password. They must also pay the required application fee.

The CEED application fee for all categories is as follows: 

CEED admit card will be released by IIT Bombay in January 2027. It is mandatory to carry a print copy of the hall ticket. Applicants must verify the details mentioned on it and report to the official authorities if any errors persist. 

The exam pattern for CEED 2027 is outlined in the official brochure released by IIT Bombay. Candidates can check the exam structure below: 

  • There are two parts in the CEED exam - Part A and Part B
  • Part A consists of three sections - Sections 1, 2, and 3
  • Sections 1, 2, and 3 include question type of Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), respectively.
  • Part B has a total of 5 questions from Sketching, Creativity, Form Sensitivity, Visual Sensitivity, and Problem Identification.
  • Part B carries 100 marks, while Part A carries 150 marks

The detailed CEED Syllabus is released by IIT Bombay on the official website. For the year 2027, the syllabus will be released along with the notification. As of now, no changes are expected in the syllabus. Based on the previous year trend, below are the topics from where questions will be asked in the exam: 

IIT Bombay will release the CEED 2027 final answer key and question paper for Part A in January 2027 on the official website. The draft answer key for the CEED exam 2027 Part A will be released in January 2027. The link is provided on the official CEED 2027 website for candidates to access their responses and download them. Candidates can report the discrepancies in the draft answer keys through the candidate’s portal on the official CEED website.

The institute will release the Master Question Paper on the official website of CEED for candidates who appeared for the exam. They can upload their comments/queries if they have any doubts regarding the draft keys.

IIT Bombay will release the CEED 2027 result in March 2027 on the official website. The scorecard for the CEED 2027 exam will be available from March 2027. The CEED result is released in the form of a scorecard, which can be downloaded by candidates using their login details. 

  • Marks obtained by candidates in Part A will be used for shortlisting.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then be evaluated in Part B.
  • Part B of CEED consists of subjective questions with no model solutions. Evaluation will be holistic based on the criteria specified in each question.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-totalling in CEED. Requests for re-evaluation or re-totalling will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • The final CEED score will be calculated by assigning a 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part A and a 75% weightage to marks obtained in Part B.
