Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM)
IIM Shillong offers an Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM) for experienced professional with a blend of corporate experience, intellectual curiosity, and research aspirations. The PhD (WP) programme is for a period of four years. However, the candidates who are unable to complete the program within the stipulated time may be allowed to continue in the program depending upon their progress.
PhD at IIM Shillong is offered in Economics & Public Policy, Finance & Control, Information Systems & Analytics, Marketing, Operations & Quantitative Techniques, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources and Strategy & Liberal Studies.
The main highlights of the EDPM programme at IIM Shillong are as listed below.
- Candidates willing to apply for the doctoral programme in management at IIM Shillong must have a valid test score in CAT/GRE/ GMAT/GATE/JRF-UGC or equivalent.
- They must have a two year master’s degree or two year post graduate diploma or five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline from a recognised university.
- Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS are also accepted as minimum qualifications for the Ph.D. admissions at IIM Shillong.
- Candidates applying for the programme must have scored minimum 60 percent marks in the qualifying degree.
- Candidates with MBA or equivalent degree from IIMs with at least 6.5 CGPA need not have any of the above aptitude exam scores.
- Individuals with at least 10 years of rich management experience from government or non- government sector can also apply without any test scores.
- Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the personal interview.
- Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview, academic qualification and relevant work experience.

For PhD for Working Professionals admission at IIM Shillong, candidates must have:
- A valid score in CAT/GRE/ GMAT/GATE/JRF-UGC or equivalent
- A two year master’s degree/ two year post graduate diploma/ five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline from a recognised university.
- Candidates with any professional qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS with a B.Com/Degree and 55% marks are also eligible
- Scored 60% or above in the qualifying degree
- Candidates with MBA or equivalent degree from IIMs with at least 6.5 CGPA need not have any of the above aptitude exam scores.
- Individuals with at least 10 years of rich management experience from government or non- government sector can also apply without any test scores.
- Merit in Personal Interview
