The common academic eligibility criteria for admission to various PG courses before university-level entrance exams in multiple disciplines are mentioned below.

• For admission to MA

Students should have completed their 3-year BA program with at least 50% marks in the relevant subjects. 

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory subjects. 

• For admission to M.Sc

Students must hold a bachelor's degree in Science from a recognized college/university with a minimum of 50 – 60% marks. Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of compulsory studied subjects. 

• For admission to M.Com

Students must have passed with 50% marks in aggregate in B.Com, BBA (any stream), or BA Economics or equivalent from a recognized university.

• For admission to LLM

Students must hold a bachelor’s degree in LLB or 5 years of integrated LLB with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

• For admission to M.Ed

Students willing to take admission in M.Ed program at Gauhati University must have completed their graduation in B.Ed/ BT with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

Students willing to take admission to the above-mentioned postgraduate courses are required to appear for entrance exams conducted by Gauhati University. Final selection will be based on the valid scores obtained in the required entrance exams.

Gauhati University B.Tech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Students willing to take admission in the B.Tech program must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

The compulsory subjects include Physics and Mathematics, while Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject can be an optional subject.

Selection Criteria - Scores of state-level exams i.e. JEE Mains, Assam CEE are considered for final selection.
