Established in 1950, Alagappa University has achieved notable advancements in higher education. It holds recognition from the UGC and has received an impressive A+ grade from the NAAC. In the 2023 NIRF Ranking, the university holds the 56th position in the overall category.
The university offers over 63 programs in the UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate levels. It has four faculties, eleven schools of learning with forty-four departments, two constituent colleges, and ten directorates/centers of development and studies.
Additionally, the university offers 146 programs focused on skills through the Collaborative method and 75 programs through the Distance Education mode. Alagappa University has also partnered with 45 Arts and Science Colleges, which provide 96 Undergraduate and Graduate programs.
Admission to Alagappa University is mostly merit-based and for a few courses, scores of state-level qualifying exams like TANCET, IMUCET, and others are taken into consideration.
