Educational Qualification
Another important eligibility factor for the TGT exam is educational qualification. Candidates can take a look at the following prescribed educational qualifications which a candidate is required to complete in order to apply for the examination.
- Candidates are required to complete 4 years of an integrated course from NCTE recognised regional college of education of NCERT with a minimum of 50 % marks in the aggregate as well as concerned subjects.
OR
- Candidates should have their Bachelor's Honours Degree with minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate as well as in every concerned subject. Applicants for the three-year degree programme should have completed at least two years of study in the required courses.
OR
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 50 % marks aggregate and even in the concerned subject. Applicants should have completed all three years of their degree programme in the required courses.
AND
- Further candidates appearing for the examination are required to clear the CTET exam which is conducted by the CBSE.
- Candidate must have completed their B.Ed degree (Does not apply on the 4-year integrated course)
- Candidates should know how to teach in Hindi and English language.

Candidates can appear for the TGT exam till the time they reach the age limit of 35 years.

The education body has set the upper age limit for the candidates appearing in the PGT exam. As per the NVS, a candidate must be 40 years old on the prescribed date to apply for the examination. Educational Qualification

- Candidate must complete the 2-year integrated PG course by an NCTE-recognised regional college of education of NCERT and are required to score at least 50 % marks in aggregate
- Candidates should have a B.Ed degree
- Aspirants must have proficiency in teaching in both mediums Hindi and English
- If the candidate has either of the given qualifications, then he or she is not required to have a B.Ed degree.
- completed a four-year integrated degree programme at any NCTE-recognized college or institution, such as the Regional College of Education of NCERT.
- A master's degree in one of the above fields from an accredited university with a minimum of 50%
