DCECE Eligibility Criteria 2023: The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is the exam conducting authority for the DCECE examination. The DCECE examination is conducted to provide admissions into the various polytechnic engineering & paramedical courses recognised by the Government of Bihar. Candidates must thoroughly go through the DCECE eligibility criteria before registering for the examination.
The eligibility criteria will include educational qualifications, domicile status, age limit, and physical examination. Only the candidates who satisfy the DCECE eligibility requirements will be eligible for appearing in the DCECE Exam 2023. The eligibility requirements will vary for polytechnic engineering & paramedical courses.

DCECE Reservation Criteria 2023
As per the official DCECE 2023 notification, the following reservation criteria will be applicable for providing admissions to the candidates appearing in the DCECE examination:
- Only the natives of Bihar who have been declared under the reserved category by the Government of Bihar and who have a valid caste certificate shall enjoy the benefits of reservation
- Candidates under the reserved category will be allotted the seats reserved for them based on their category merit list
- Candidates who are not residents of Bihar will not be eligible to claim seats under the reserved categories
- Reserved categories for the DCECE exam 2023 will be decided on the basis of the list of SC/ST/EBC/BC created by the Government of Bihar before announcing the dates for the online DCECE application process

DCECE Reservation Criteria 2023: For Disabled Quota
Candidates must be aware of the following DCECE reservation criteria that is applicable as per the disabled quota:
- Out of the total number of seats available, 5% seats will be reserved for the candidates falling under the disabled category
- Candidates with any kind of disability should get their certificate attested by Chief Medical Officer/Board and attach the same with the Part A and Part B forms along with an attested full-sized photograph
- The certificate produced by the candidate must explain the category, percentage and status of disability, etc.
- Candidates with a disability will only be admitted to those programs in which their disability does not affect the successful completion of the course
- Candidates who claim seats under the Disabled Quota will be allowed to pursue a specific course only after a thorough check-up, for which an additional fee will be charged
DCECE Reservation Criteria 2023: For Service Men’s Quota
The following reservation criteria will be applicable as per the service men’s quota:
- Sons and daughters of servicemen and ex-servicemen who are residents of Bihar can claim seats under the Service Men’s Quota (SMQ)
- A separate merit list will be prepared for the candidates applying for SMQ seats based on their scores in the DCECE examination
- Personnel who have formerly served under the Jammu & Kashmir Militia will be treated as “Ex-Service Men”
- As per the Ministry of Defence, the following new categories of Territorial Army personnel will also be considered “Ex-Service Men”:
- Pension Holders of the continuous embodied service.
- Disabled Territorial Army personnel with disability attributed to Military Service.
- Family Pension Holders
