Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) conducts the AP ECET on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). AP ECET 2025 registration will begin in March 2025 tentatively.
AP ECET Syllabus 2025
The AP ECET syllabus for the examination year 2025 is yet to be released. However, the previous year syllabus is available on the official website of the APSCHE. The syllabus encompasses common subjects—Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry—as well as specialised topics corresponding to the candidate's engineering or pharmacy discipline.
Apart from the common subjects of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, the engineering diploma holders have to choose from the specialisations, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Communications, Computer Science, Chemical, Metallurgical, Mining, Electronics & Instrumentation, Ceramic Technology, Biotechnology and Agricultural Engineering. On the other hand, for the pharmacy diploma holders, there are four compulsory sections, Section I: Pharmaceutics; Section II: Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Section III: Pharmacognosy and Section IV: Pharmacology. The BSc degree holders have to cover the syllabus of Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Communicative English.
AP ECET Pattern 2025
AP ECET is a computer-based test of 200 marks and a duration of 3 hours. Aspirants of the exam must check the question structure, marking scheme and section of the exam. All the questions are of Multiple Choice type or MCQs carrying one mark each. There is no negative marking. The detailed pattern of the examination for engineering, pharmacy diploma and BSc degree holders are as given below.

AP ECET 2025: Preparation Tips
AP ECET is a comprehensive exam with a vast syllabus. Candidates appearing for the exam must hold a 3 year diploma in engineering or pharmacy or a 3 year B.Sc. degree. Candidates seeking lateral entry into second year of the undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes are assessed thoroughly in the AP ECET examination. Thus, the exam requires focused preparation on both general and specialized subjects. Some of the important preparation tips for the AP ECET 2025 are as follows:
- Preparation of any exam mandates understanding the exam pattern and marking scheme. The AP ECET exam carries 1 mark for each correct answer and there is no negative marking.
- Check the syllabus carefully and formulate a time-table for the same. Set daily, weekly and monthly study targets. Allocate time for revision.
- Candidates must focus on the core engineering subjects of their diploma branch as they carry the highest weightage (100 marks).
- Repeated revision of the common subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry is important to strengthen overall score.
- Practicing previous years' question papers helps to understand the pattern and difficulty level of the exam.
