B.Tech. in Civil Engineering

B.Tech in Civil Engineering is a full-time undergraduate course in engineering offered at National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. It is a four year programme. The main highlights of the BTech programme at NIT Jamshedpur are given below.

  • Candidates willing to apply for the B.Tech. must have a valid score in the JEE Main exam conducted by NTA.
  • They must have also completed the HSC (10+2) level examination from a recognized board. 
  • Candidates must also have scored a minimum of 75% marks in the qualifying examination. The minimum scores for the reserved category candidates is 65% in the qualifying examination.
  • It is mandatory for all the applicants to have PCM/ PCMB as subject combinations in their 10+2 level examination.
  • Seats for the BTech programmes are allocated through a common counselling process - JoSAA. Applicants must register to the official JoSAA online portal.
  • At the end of JoSAA Rounds, vacant seats of the NIT+ system, if any, are filled through two additional CSAB-Special Rounds through its official website.

The tuition fee for the BTech programme at NIT Jamshedpur is INR 62,500 per semester. The fee is to be paid on a semester basis. The components of fee for the first semester are as follows:

Tuition Fees = INR 62,500

One-time Fee = INR 7,000

Refundable Security Deposit = INR 10,000

Semester Charges = INR 10,500

Hostel Charges = INR 15,000

Total Fees for the 1st semester = INR 1,05,000

Total Fees for the 2nd semester onwards = INR 88,000

Note:

  • Candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories are exempted from the tuition fee. 
  • Students from GE, OBC-NCL, EWS categories whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum will also receive the full exemption from the tuition fee. 
  • Candidates from GE, OBC-NCL, EWS categories whose family income is Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakhs per annum will receive an exemption of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
