SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2024: The SSC MTS exam consists of two stages– Paper 1, and PET/PST for Havaldar posts. Candidates aspiring to appear for the exam are advised to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the SSC MTS exam pattern 2024 to increase their chances of attaining the desired SSC MTS Result.
As per the SSC MTS official notification, applicants had to appear for a computer-based, objective type- multiple-choice question examination for paper 1. The same comprises – General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness.
Earlier, candidates shortlisted from the SSC MTS Tier 1 examination had to appear for Paper 2 which was a descriptive exam. In the latest pattern, the descriptive section has been discontinued. After paper 1, candidates who have opted for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN will have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST).

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2024: Paper-I
The SSC MTS Paper-I is an online test with multiple-choice questions from four sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness. SSC MTS Paper-I Exam Pattern: Marking Scheme
- Paper 1 will have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer
- Each question will be of one mark.
- Paper 1 will be of the objective type (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Both English and Hindi will be used to prepare the questions
- Candidates with visual impairment and cerebral palsy have a 120-minute time limit

Candidates who applied for SSC Havaldar positions in CBIC and CBN would have to pass the SSC MTS Tier-1 Exam before they can take the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test.
