IIT JAM Cut Off 2026: Subject Wise Cutoff, Previous Years' Closing Ranks

IIT JAM Cut Off 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi will releasethe subject wise cut off lists for IIT JAM exam 2026 on its official website, jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The subject wise cut off lists will help the candidates shortlist the institutes they may get into after qualifying IIT JAM.

The cut off marks vary according to the General, SC, ST, OBC, and any other reserved categories. Thus, candidates must check the accurate marks according to their respective categories. The IIT JAM exam offers around 3000 seats across 21 IITs all over the country. Eligible candidates will be offered admission after the completion of their counselling sessions.

Qualifying candidates can further check their IIT JAM cut off 2026 by visiting the official website. Here are a few simple steps to check the official cut off lists once they are out:

Step 1: Visit the IIT JAM 2026 website jam2026.iitb.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the cut off 2026 notification on the page

Step 3: Select the cut off PDF for the subject of your choice

Step 4: Click on the download option if you wish to save the file

Cut off lists are released in mainly three or four rounds. If the candidates do not find the institute of their choice, they can wait for the next lists to come out soon. However, it is advisable to fill the institute they are eligible for, as the number of seats decreases with every new cut off list.

The IIT JAM cut off lists for each subject are prepared while keeping the following factors in mind:

• Previous years’ cut off trends
• Number of candidates appearing for the exam
• Performance of the candidates

IIT JAM Counselling 2026

Once the cut off and merit lists are out, candidates are then invited for counselling sessions as per their course and institute preference. Only the qualified candidates are eligible for counselling. After the counselling sessions, candidates are required to fill in their admission forms. The IIT JAM counselling 2026 is expected to begin in April 2026. The exact dates will be released after the declaration of result on March 20, 2026.
