TNPSC Group 2 Vacancy 2025: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) releases the Group 2 vacancies on its official website. The vacancies are released department and category-wise for eligible candidates. They are released along with the official notification by the commission. It is one of the major deciding factors of the TNPSC Group 2 cutoff marks. Generally, it has been observed that fewer vacancies result in higher cutoff scores.
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducts the TNPSC Group 2 exam for recruiting eligible candidates for Group 2 posts under various departments of the Government of Tamil Nadu. These posts are divided into interview & non-interview posts. The commission also releases district-wise vacancies for some of the posts, such as Revenue Assistant, Assistant in the Divisions of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Assistant in the Divisions of Commercial Taxes Department, and others.
TNPSC 2025 Group 2 Posts and Vacancies
The Commission has announced a total of 645 vacancies across Group 2 and Group 2A posts, inviting eligible candidates to apply online from July 15 to August 13, 2025. The TNPSC Group 2 preliminary exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 28, 2025.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2025 - Previous Year's Vacancies
It is important for candidates to know the previous year vacancies as well to have an idea of the expected vacancies. The expected vacancies can tell candidates a lot more about the competitive level in the examination. However, students must focus on their preparation instead. They should cover the TNPSC Group 2 syllabus comprehensively to ace the exam.
In total, the commission announced 5529 vacancies in 2022. Out of 5529 vacancies, 5413 were new vacancies while the remaining positions were carried forward vacancies. Vacancies that weren't filled in the previous year and were carried over to the next year are known as carry-forward vacancies.
As per the exam notification for TNPSC Group 2 recruitment 2024, the commission released a total of 2,327 vacancies. However, the number of vacancies was later increased by the addition of 213 new posts. The new total vacancies were 2,540. Check the notice below:
