TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2026: Nativity
- Candidates who passed their Class 12 from Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for the exam.
- Candidates who passed their Class 12 outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply for the exam; however, they have to submit proof of nativity.
- Candidates who are the son/daughter of Central Government employees serving in the state of Tamil Nadu for the last 5 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Such students are required to produce a certificate from the employer of their parent/guardian.
- All Indian Service Tamil Nadu cadre officials' wards are eligible to take the TNEA exam.
- Wards of Tamil Nadu employees who have worked consistently for the last five years in the public sector or at government-recognised institutions are also eligible to apply. For this, they do not need to produce a domicile certification.

- Candidates must have earned a minimum cumulative percentage of 60% in maths, physics, and chemistry in order to be considered.
- Candidates must have received a minimum grade of 50% in English in class 12.
- The maximum age for a candidate is 25 years old.
- Candidates must weigh at least 48 kilogrammes and stand at least 157 centimetres tall.
- Candidates must be able to see colours normally. They must have a standard vision.
