IIM Calcutta: Ranking, Course, Fees, Admission & Placements

Ph.D. is a full-time doctoral programme offered by IIM Calcutta  to prepare students for careers in teaching and research in management studies and in related disciplines, and for careers in the government, in industry, and in other organizations that require advanced analytical and research capabilities.

The IIMC Doctoral programme in management includes specializations such as Economics, Finance & Control, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, Public Policy and Management, and Strategic Management. The specializations related to management include Operations Research & Systems Analysis, Regional Development, and Sociology.

The main highlights of the PhD programme at IIM Calcutta are as listed below.

• Candidates willing to apply for the doctoral programme in management at IIM Calcutta must have a valid test score in CAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ GATE/ JRF-UGC or equivalent.
• They must have a two year master’s degree or two year post graduate diploma or five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline from a recognised university.
• Candidates applying for the programme must have scored minimum 60 percent marks in the qualifying degree.
• Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS (with 50% marks) are also accepted as minimum qualifications for the Ph.D. admissions at IIM Calcutta.
• Candidates with a 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor’s degree with at least 6.5 CGPA (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates with MBA or equivalent degree from IIMs with at least 6.5 CGPA need not have any of the above aptitude exam scores.
• Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a personal interview.
• Merit List will be prepared based on written test/ Personal Interview, academic qualification and relevant work experience.
