Panjab university offers more than 850 courses at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctral levels. The university has 78 departments.  The undergraduate and post graduate programs are offered in various disciplines including business & management, visual arts, medical sciences, languages, and humanities and social sciecne, law, science, education, engineering and technology and many more.

The university conducts various entrance exams for admission to various courses, including the PU CET UG, PUCET PG, PU MET, PU LAW, PUTHAT, PULEET, MBA USOL, PU MPhil, and PhD while the scores of JEE Mains, CAT and NEET exam are also considered for admission in relevant courses. The courses offered at Panjab University are BCA, BA, BCom BSc, LLB, BTech/BE, B Pharma, B Ed, LLM, MA, MCom, MSc, MPharma, MBA, MTech, MCA and PhD.
