M.A. in English
M.A. in English is a 2 year master's course offered by the Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University. The minimum eligibility for the course is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The main highlights of the course are given below.
- Candidates willing to apply for M.A. in English have to appear for the PUCET-PG, an entrance exam conducted by the University.
- They must have a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks under 10+2+3 system or equivalent.
- Candidates with 45% marks in BA with English as elective or Compulsory English / B.A. Hons in English / Master's Degree with 45% marks are also accpeted as the qualification for the program.
- Candidates with minimum qualification have to appear for an aptitude test and an interview conducted by the department.
- In the selection process, 100% weighatage is given to the PUCET-PG test.
- 5% Additional Seats created for Vocational Subject (Functional English).
- There are total 120 seats offered for the program, out of which 5 seats are for vocational subject, 15 for NRI and 5 for foreign nationals.

- BA Hons in English/ Master's Degree with 45% marks are also accpeted
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PwD category are given a 5% concession in the minimum eligibility criteria.
