Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is one of the most prestigious institutes in India. The institute offers its flagship course B.Tech in 15 specializations across various streams. Admission to undergraduate programs at IIT Kharagpur is based on Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) results. Students who qualify for admission through IIT-JEE are eligible for admission in B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) degree, B.Arch, a five-year Dual Degree (Integrated Bachelor & Master of Technology), or integrated M.Sc (Master of Sciences) at IIT Kharagpur.
IIT Kharagpur postgraduate courses include LLB/LLM, M.Tech/MCP, MBA/EMBA, MHRM, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) and Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. IIT Kharagpur has also introduced the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) B.Sc-B.Ed from the academic session 2023-2024. ITEP is a dual major program, with one major in Education and another in any of the currently offered disciplines such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and economics.
IIT Kharagpur's eligibility and selection process is based on passing marks in 10+2 and a valid score of JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counseling at the undergraduate level. IIT Kharagpur's eligibility and selection criteria for admission in postgraduate courses is 60% marks in a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or architecture along with a GATE score followed by COAP counseling. IIT Kharagpur's fee structure for undergraduate courses is approximately INR 2.2 Lakhs for the 1st year. While for postgraduate courses it is INR 20K (approx) for the 1st year.
