IIM Ranchi: Admissions, Placements and Course Fee

IIM Ranchi offers a Ph.D. programme in management with the objective of developing outstanding scholars for teaching or research careers at business schools/universities or management research institutions or careers in Government, industry, NGOs or for that matter any organization that requires advanced analytical and research capabilities. PhD at IIM Ranchi is offered in Economics, Finance and Accounting, Information System and Business Analytics, Liberal Arts and Science, Marketing, Organisation Behaviour and Human Resource, Operations Management and Strategy & Entrepreneurship.

The main highlights of the PhD programme at IIM Ranchi are as listed below.

• Candidates willing to apply for the doctoral programme in management at IIM Ranchi must have a valid test score in CAT/GRE/ GMAT/GATE/JRF-UGC/CSIR or equivalent exam.
• They must have a two year master’s degree or two year post graduate diploma or five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline from a recognised university.
• Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with a B.Com/Degree (with at least 55% scores) are also accepted as minimum qualifications for the Ph.D. admissions at IIM Ranchi.
• Candidates applying for the programme must have scored minimum 60 percent marks in the qualifying degree.
• For direct admission to the Ph.D. programme, Candidates with a four Year/eight semester Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ four-year graduate degree with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average are eligible. They must also have a valid score in any of the national level exams mentioned above.
• Candidates with MBA or equivalent degree from IIMs with at least 60% marks need not have any of the above aptitude exam scores.
• Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the personal interview.
• Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview & Research Aptitude (second stage of PI), academic qualification and relevant work experience.
