MCAT Registration 2023: Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) administers the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) for students planning to apply to medical schools in the United States and Canada. The MCAT online registration process takes place through the MCAT Registration System on the AAMC official website. Students can register for the MCAT exam by creating an AAMC ID. 

Before applying to take the MCAT exam, students are advised to check the eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled. Only candidates preparing to apply to and attend a health professions program are eligible to register for the MCAT exam. Health professions programs include MD programs, DO programs, podiatric medicine courses, veterinary medicine programs, and any other medical science course that accepts MCAT scores as a part of its admissions process. 

To register for the MCAT exam, sign into the MCAT Registration System (MRS) with the username and password which is associated with the candidate’s AAMC ID. Before the selection of the exam date and test centre, the student is required to complete essential registration information such as contact details and educational background.

AAMC conducts the registration process for the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test). Students can register for the MCAT exam by visiting the official website of AAMC and creating an AAMC account. Candidates need an AAMC ID and the username and password associated with the ID in order to register for the MCAT exam. The MCAT standard registration fee is $ 330.

Students need to note that there is a limit to the number of times that a candidate can appear for the MCAT exam. In one testing year, a student can take the exam three times, and four times over a period of two consecutive years. In one’s lifetime, a student can take the MCAT exam for a maximum of seven times.

Step 1: Create AAMC Account

• Visit the official website of AAMC
• Click on - ‘register for the MCAT exam’
• Click on - ‘create account’
• Fill in the required information and submit the form
• Candidate’s username and password will be generated

Step 2: Fill Registration Form

• Log in to the MCAT registration system through the username and password that is associated with one’s AAMC ID
• Fill in the form with the required information on contact details, background, and educational qualifications 
• Candidates are required to agree to the MCAT Examinee Agreement
• Select Exam Centre Location and Exam Date
• Pay the Registration Fee

MCAT Registration Norms

Candidates must note that there are certain rules and regulations that need to be adhered to during the MCAT registration process. Students need to be mindful of the fact that any violation of the norms might lead to disqualification from the exam for a specific time period or permanently, cancellation of scores, cancellation of testing appointments, and other consequences. 

• Students are prohibited from creating more than one AAMC ID.
• Candidates are not allowed to hold multiple testing appointments at the same time.
• Students are not permitted to improperly exceed the testing limits (number of times a student can appear for the exam) for MCAT.
• Students are prohibited from registering or taking the MCAT test through another candidate’s AAMC ID. Further, they are not allowed to let someone else register or take the test through their AAMC ID. Students are not permitted to switch their registration with another candidate.
• Candidates must provide accurate information while the creation of AAMC ID and during the registration process.
