Prospective applicants for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) position are required to have a comprehensive understanding of the syllabus details. The DSSSB PGT examination is divided into two sections. Section B will have 2 questions: One for letter writing and other for essay writing. The essay topic will be from General Awareness & Current Affairs. For letter writing, formal topic will be asked in the question paper.

DSSSB Syllabus : Important Points
In Two-Tier examinations, the Tier-I exam serves as a means of shortlisting candidates, while the selection process is primarily based on the marks obtained in the Tier-II Examination.
(ii) In cases where the number of eligible candidates for post codes following the Two-Tier examination scheme is relatively low (not very high), the Board may, at its discretion, skip the Tier-I exam and directly conduct the Tier-II examination.
(iii) Negative marking will be applicable, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect multiple-choice question (MCQ) answer.
(iv) The minimum qualifying marks for the One-Tier/Two-Tier written examination (Objective/Descriptive Type) are as follows:
- General: 40%
- OBC (Delhi): 35%
- SC/ST/PH (PwD): 30%
- Ex-servicemen will receive a 5% relaxation in their respective categories, subject to a minimum of 30%.
(v) The Board retains the right to set a minimum cut-off mark for any post, depending on the availability of candidates.
(vi) Skill tests/Endurance tests will be conducted as per the specific job requirements.
DSSSB Exam Pattern
Aspiring candidates preparing for the DSSSB exam must be aware of the exam pattern as well. Candidates must know that the exam pattern may vary for each post. Hence, candidates should know the exam pattern for the post they are applying for. Some general information on the DSSSB exam pattern is as follows:
- The DSSSB exam is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
- The negative marking is applicable to DSSSB exams.
- According to the DSSSB marking scheme, each question will carry 1 mark. If a question is answered incorrectly, 0.25 marks are deducted.
- No marks will be awarded in case the question is left unanswered.
