DSSSB Exam Pattern: The Delhi Subordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB) is a body responsible for conducting the DSSSB exam. The body also releases the DSSSB exam pattern along with the official notification. Every year, DSSSB vacancies are released for various teaching and non-teaching posts under the NCT Government of Delhi. Depending on the post candidate is seeking for, the exam format may differ.

The DSSSB exam is conducted for PGT, TGT, PRT, Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Lab Assistant, LDC & Stenographer Grade-II. Candidates preparing for any of these posts must be aware of the respective exam pattern. Candidates must also have the knowledge of DSSSB syllabus for respective posts if they are wishing to apply for any of these posts.

The Junior Engineer (JE) and Junior Environmental Engineer (JEE) exams are divided into two levels, Tier 1 and Tier 2, in accordance with the DSSSB exam pattern. Those seeking positions as PGTs, TGTs, or PRTs, however, have to appear only for Tier 1, since no Tier II is conducted.

  • The DSSSB exam is conducted in Computer-based Test (CBT) mode
  • The questions asked are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type.
  • There will be two sections - Section 1 & Section 2. The section 1 will have questions from Mental Ability and Reasoning Ability, Numerical Aptitude and Data Interpretation, Hindi Language & Comprehension, English Language and Comprehension, and General Awareness.
  • Section 2 will be related to the core subject and will have 200 questions (MCQ type) from the chosen subject.
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • Each question will carry 1 mark. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer.

  • The exam for PRT/TGT will consist of 200 questions
  • Each question will carry one mark thus totalling the maximum marks to 200.
  • Negative marking is applicable to the DSSSB exam. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hrs.

DSSSB Exam Pattern for Junior Engineer (JE) & Junior Environmental Engineer (JEE)

DSSSB JE/JEE Exam Pattern - Tier 1

Each of the 200 questions in the Tier 1 exam carries one mark. Each of the 200 questions is an MCQ. The duration of the exam is 2 hrs.  Additionally, there is a 0.25 mark deduction for each incorrect response.

There are 200 MCQs for 200  marks in the Tier-II exam. The exam has a 2:30 hrs time limit for candidates.
