Applicants who are planning to pursue law in India must register for the CLAT exam. The test is taken for admission to integrated law programs at UG or PG level and can be attempted after class 12th by interested candidates. With an acceptance percentage as low as 3 per cent, it is regarded as one of the hardest admission exams in India.

Is the CLAT 2025 cutoff released?

No, the CLAT 2025 cutoff will be released after the result is declared. CLAT result will be released tentatively in the last week of December 2024.

How is the CLAT cutoff determined?

The difficulty level of the exam, the total number of candidates taking the exam, the total number of seats available, and the reservation policy of the participating NLUs are some of the factors used to calculate the CLAT cutoff. These variables may affect the cutoff each year.

Is the Cutoff released separately for each NLU?

Yes, each participating NLU releases its own cutoff marks/ranks based on various categories (like General, SC, ST, OBC, PwD) and the program (UG or PG) for which admission is sought. Candidates need to meet the cutoff criteria set by each NLU individually.

Can I get admission to an NLU if I score below the CLAT cutoff?

In general, if your CLAT score is below the cutoff, you will not be admitted to an NLU. To fill vacant positions, some NLUs may include an option for additional counselling, in that case, applicants with lower scores may have a chance to be admitted.
