IIT Dharwad offers PhD programmes in Civil Engineering. Candidates willing to apply for the doctoral programme must have completed a 2 year master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognized institution. The highlights of the course are given below:
- Candidates applying for the Ph.D. programme at IIT Dharwad must have passed M.E./ M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institute/university.
- If a candidate does not have M.Tech. or equivalent degree, the candidate must have a valid score in GATE/ CSIR/ UGC NET or equivalent examination.
- They must have scored minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale in the qualifying degree.
- Admission to the course is based on the interview of the selected candidates conducted by the department.
- The tuition fee for the PhD at IIT Dharwad is INR 2,500 per semester.

- Scored minimum 60% percent marks in the qualifying degree
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD categories must have 55% marks in the qualifying degree.
