UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2023: Paper I and II Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2023 is released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPS). The commission releases the exam pattern along with the UPSC CMS official notification. UPSC CMS exam 2023 is divided into two parts. While part I is the written test, part II is a personality test. The UPSC CMS written exam is of 500 marks, whereas the interview is of 100 marks. The UPSC CMS written exam is further divided into two papers and each paper carried a maximum of 250 marks. On the other hand, the personality exam is solely of 100 marks and only those students who have qualified the written examination will be eligible to appear for the personality test.

• UPSC CMS exam has two parts - Written test and Interview 
• UPSC CMS time duration for part 1 is 2 hours for each paper
• Candidates who will qualify UPSC CMS written exam can appear for the interview stage 
• UPSC CMS written exam (part I) have two paper including  General Medicine and Paediatrics and the marking for both are different. 
• The UPSC CMS written exam for both the paper will take place in MCQ format and the question paper will be set in English language only.

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2023: Written Test (Paper 1)

UPSC written examination is the first step for candidates to secure the job post they have applied for. The written examination is further divided into two parts - paper I and paper II. UPSC CMS personality test is the final stage of the examination. If the candidate qualifies for this test, then he or she will be eligible to secure the post for which they have applied under the UPSC CMS exam 2023. UPSC CMS exam 2023 has negative marking. As per the UPSC CMS negative marking 1.3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer attempted in the examination.
