NMIMS Mumbai offers a full-time Ph.D. programme in management for a minimum period of 4 years and maximum up to 6 years. The main research domains are Business Policy & General Management, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources & Behavioural Sciences, Operations & Data Sciences and Economics.

The main highlights of the doctoral programme at NMIMS Mumbai are as follows:

• Candidates willing to apply for admission to the PhD program at NMIMS Mumbai must appear for SBM NMIMS Ph.D. Admission Entrance Test.
• Candidates who have qualified with valid period & valid score in NET / SET / GATE / GPAT / JRF in UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR or other equivalent examinations are exempted from NMIMS entrance test.
• The minimum eligibility for the doctoral programme is a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution/university.
• Candidates must have scored minimum 55 percent marks in the qualifying degree. There are some exemptions for the reserved categories.
• Based on the test scores, candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview.
• The final selection will be based on the test scores, research proposal, evaluation of past academic performance, research interest, relevant work experience and performance in the personal interview.
