Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses to students in areas of engineering and technology. The main courses offered are BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Embedded Systems and Internet of Things and Electronics and Communication Engineering, MTech in ECE and CSE and PhD in engineering.

Admission to the BTech at IIIT Ranchi is based on the scores of JEE Main exams conducted by NTA. The seats for the BTech programmes are allocated through JoSAA or CSAB counselling. For the MTech admissions, a valid GATE score is mandatory. Similarly, PhD Admissions are based on the scores of the national level entrance examinations. The institute also conducts Personal Interviews for selecting from the shortlisted candidates.
