Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses to students in areas of engineering and technology. The main courses offered are BTech in Computer Science and Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering, MTech in CSE and ECE and PhD in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences.

Admission to the BTech at IIIT Guwahati is based on the scores of JEE Main exams conducted by NTA. The seats for the BTech programmes are allocated through JoSAA or CSAB counselling. For the MTech admissions, a valid GATE score is mandatory. Similarly, PhD Admissions are based on the scores of the national level entrance examinations. The institute also conducts Personal Interviews for selecting from the shortlisted candidates.
