Candidates wishing to appear for the JSSC CGL examination must fulfil the educational criteria. The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

• To apply for Labor Enforcement Officer, candidate must have a bachelor degree in Mathematics/Economics/Statistics
• To apply for Geology Analyst, candidates must have a bachelor degree in Geology/Chemistry
• To apply for Fishery Extension Officer, candidate must have a bachelor degree in Food Technology/Biotechnology/Mathematics/Statistics
• To apply for Block Agriculture Officer, candidates must have a bachelor degree in Agriculture.
• To apply for posts like Block supply officer, Block welfare officer, Cooperative Extension officer, Secretariat Assistant, Circle Inspector cum Kanungo, candidates must have bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
