IBPS PO result 2023: Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for the IBPS PO examination and eagerly wait for their results to be declared. IBPS PO Mains took place on 5th November 2023. The result for the same is expected to be announced in the last week of November 2023. Recently, the conducting body published the IBPS provisional allotment list for the 2022 exam session. Previously, on April 1, 2023, the authorities released the IBPS PO final results for the year 2022. The official website has published the final merit list. The results could be checked up until April 30, 2023. Candidates were asked to provide their registration number, date of birth, and password in order to view the IBPS PO final result 2022. The result was influenced by the released vacancies and IBPS PO Cut-Off scores. 

As for the IBPS PO result 2023, it is yet to release for different stages including Prelims, Mains & Interview. Each round will decide the qualifying status of the candidate for the next stage of the selection process. As a result, the final scorecard will be released a few days after the declaration of the result which will display the section-wise and category-wise cutoff marks. IBPS PO Prelims Result 2023

IBPS PO Prelims result 2023 will be declared in October 2023, tentatively. This round comprises three sections, which are: English Language, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Further, this round carries 100 marks, and as it is a qualifying examination, candidates clearing it to move on to appear for the Mains examination. The Prelims result is not considered when preparing the final IBPS provisional allotment list. The formula to calculate the score for Prelims is: 

Total Score = Score obtained in English Language + Reasoning Ability + Quantitative Aptitude.

IBPS PO Mains Result 2023

IBPS PO Mains result 2023 will be announced in December 2023, tentatively. This is the second round of the examination and comprises two additional sections. For this round, candidates will have to prepare for a total of five sections, which are: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language & Descriptive Test, and  Data Analysis & Interpretation. The descriptive section will cover questions from essay and letter writing. This round carries 225 marks, and candidates scoring the minimum qualifying marks will be eligible for the interview round. 

IBPS PO Interview Result 2023

IBPS PO interview call letter will be released in January/February 2024, tentatively. It is announced along with the provisional allotment list. The interview carries 100 marks and will carry 20% weightage in the final result. After the interview round ends, provisional allotment will be done as per the vacancies in different banks.

IBPS PO Result 2023: Provisional Allotment

IBPS PO Provisional Allotment 2023 will begin after the conclusion of the interview round. Consequently, It will take place somewhere around April 2024. Final selection is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Mains exam and Interview, with the weightage 80:20 respectively. The allotment to different participating banks will be done based on merit and final vacancies.

IBPS PO Result: Score Calculation

The calculation of IBPS PO scores follows these steps:

1. The scores obtained by each candidate in various exam sessions are normalized using the equi-percentile method.
2. For calculation purposes, scores are rounded to two decimal points.

Firstly, the scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the examination are normalized. This normalization process takes into account the variation in difficulty levels across different sessions to ensure fairness and comparability among candidates.

During normalization, the equi-percentile method is employed. This method aligns the scores of candidates based on the relative performance of individuals in their respective sessions. It ensures that candidates with similar percentile ranks across different sessions are assigned comparable scores.

Furthermore, to facilitate accurate calculations and precision, the scores are considered up to two decimal points. This level of granularity allows for a more precise evaluation of candidates' performance in the examination.

IBPS PO Marking Scheme 2023

The IBPS PO result is calculated using a specific marking scheme set by the exam authority. Check the details below:

• Each correct answer gets one mark, which adds to the candidate's score.
• However, for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted from the candidate's score.
• The final score is calculated by considering the total number of correct and incorrect answers given by the candidate.

IBPS PO Tie-Breaking Policy

If two or more candidates acquire the same score, the merit is decided based on the date of birth. Candidates who are older in age are given preference in comparison to younger candidates. For instance, a 30-year-old candidate who scored the same as a 25-year-old candidate will be prioritized due to his age. 

IBPS PO Nominalization Process

IBPS PO examination is conducted in different slots and the normalization of candidates’ scores is a key factor in delivering a fair result. The difficulty level of these slots can differ from one another, and the cutoff of the different slots may also vary. Hence, to ensure this difference does not affect the final selection of the applicants, IBPS PO normalization is done. 

The main aim of this process is to make sure that a fair evaluation is done across all the slots. This is done by using the equi-percentile method.
