Panjab University Admission 2024: Panjab University offers a wide variety of courses in multiple disciplines. From basic UG and PG courses to diploma and certificate programs and PhD level courses are all offered at Panjab University.

Admission to any of the courses is based on different national-level and university-level entrance exams. The university-level exams include  PU CET UG, PUCET PG, PU PU CET, PU LAW, PUTHAT, PULEET, MBA USOL, PU MPhil, and PhD while national-level exams JEE Mains, CAT and NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET MDS, GPAT for relevant courses.

Aspiring candidates willing to take admission in Panjab University must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria in different domains. For UG courses candidates need a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 pattern with relevant disciplines while for PG candidates must have a Bachelor's degree under the 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks with relevant subjects. However, the final selection will be on the basis of the scores of PU CET or any other Selection Process in respective disciplines followed by a counselling process to the final fee submission.

Some of the Panjab University courses are B.Sc, BBA, BA, B.Com, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.Tech, ME, MCA and M.Phil. While B.E/B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA,, BDS, B.Sc are some of the popular ones.

Panjab University PU CET UG exams 2024 application form has been available since May 24 on the official website. Candidates willing to take admission must fill out the form latest by June 11, 2024 considering their courses and academic eligibility criteria.

Panjab University Admission 2024: Courses

PU offers multiple courses at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. These courses come with various specializations. Candidates can have a look for these courses and specializations in the table below:

 

Panjab University UG Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria:

• For admission to BA

Aspiring candidates must have in 10+2 pattern or equivalent from a recognized Board, with minimum 45 % aggregate marks or equivalent

• For admission to B.Sc

Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics from a recognized Board 

They must have minimum 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent in PCM.

For Speciactions , candidates must have relevant subjects

• For admission to B.Com

Applicants must obtain a minimum 50% marks in aggregate with 10+2 pattern.

• For admission to BCA

Candidates must have passed 10+2 in any discipline.They must have 50% aggregate marks in 10+2.Also, they must have Mathematics in Class 10th

• For admission to BA LLB

Aspiring students must have passed their (10+2) with at least 45% marks in aggregate. 

• For admission to B.Pharma

 Pass in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent

• For admission to BEd

The candidate should be an undergraduate. Must have secured 50% marks in agg.The candidate should pursue graduation in Engineering or Technology stream.

Panjab University UG Admission 2024: Selection Process 

Admission to the mentioned undergraduate programs relies on scores of various PU CET UG exams for different courses.Eligible candidates participate in a counseling process to secure their admission.

Panjab University PG Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria:

• For admission to MA

Candidates should have completed their 3 years BA program  or its equivalent degree from a recognized university. They have to score at least 50% in the relevant subjects.

• For admission to M.Sc

All candidates must have completed a BA in Science from a recognised college/university. They must secure a minimum 50 – 60% in Agg.

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of must subjects. 

• For admission to M.Com

Aspiring candidates must have 50% marks in aggregate in B.Com, BBA (any stream) and BA Economics from a recognized university.

• For Admission to LLM

Students must clear either a 3 year LLB degree or a BA LLB /BSc LLB /BBA LLB degree of 5 years with 50-60% aggregate scores.

• For admission to M Phil

The candidates must secure at least 55% marks in their master’s degree from any recognised university.

Criteria can vary in terms of must have subjects as per the specifications chosen.

• For admission to M Ed 

The applicants  must have completed their bachelor's degree from a university approved by UGC

Candidates passed with 55% in  B. EI. Ed degree from a government university can also pursue an MEd course

• For admission to MDS

Candidates must have scored at least 50 percentile in NEET- MDS 2023.

Panjab University PG Admission 2024: Selection Process 

Admission to the mentioned Postgraduate programs relies on scores of various PU CET exams for different PG courses like PUCET PG, PU PU CET, PU LAW, PUTHAT, PULEET, MBA USOL, PU MPhil. Eligible candidates participate in a counselling process to secure their admission.

Panjab University B.Tech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria

Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject* as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects

Selection Process 

For PU BTech , the university considers the scores of JEE mains followed by JAC counseling as all the colleges affiliated to Punjab University come under JAC Chandigarh Counseling.

Panjab University MBA Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria

A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university. Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of must subjects.

Selection Criteria 

For PU MBA, the university considers the scores of PU PU CET or CAT while the final selection includes scores of entrance exam and interview.

Panjab University LLB Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria

Aspiring students must have passed their (10+2) with at least 45% marks in aggregate. 

Selection Process 

For PU LLB, candidates have to appear in the university level entrance test for LLB.

Panjab University MTech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who must have obtained their BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE are eligible for MTech degree course.

Criteria can vary as per the specialization in terms of must subjects.

Selection Process 

For PU MTech, candidates have to appear in the university level entrance test PU CET (PG) .

Panjab University PhD Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a postgraduate degree with at least 55 % marks in a relevant discipline from a recognised university.

Selection Process 

• For PU PhD, candidates have to appear in the university-level entrance test followed by an interview round.
• Those, who have qualified the UGC NET/ JRF/ CSIR NET/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) exam/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE or GPAT scorecard/ ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holder, or passed MPhil (regular mode only) are exempted from PU PhD Entrance Exam.
