IIT Roorkee: Admission, Courses, Fees, Ranking, and Placement

The IIT Roorkee MTech (Computer Science and Engineering) is a two year masters programme in engineering or technology. The minimum qualification required for the MTech admission is a BTech degree with a minimum of 60 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA on 10 point scale. The eligibility criteria and the fees for the MTech programme is given below.

Eligibility:

• Students must have a valid GATE score
• They are also required to participate in COAP Counselling
• The minimum eligibility for IIT Roorkee MTech is a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with at least 60 percent marks
• Candidates with BSc or diploma in engineering with a minimum 3 years professional experience can also apply for the MTech program
• Final admission will be offered based on the merit list

Fees:

• The tuition fee for the M.Tech program at the IIT Roorkee is INR 5,000 per semester.
• Candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories are exempted from the tuition fee. 
• Students from GE, OBC-NCL, EWS categories whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum will also receive the full exemption from the tuition fee.
• Candidates GE, OBC-NCL, EWS categories whose family income is Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakhs per annum will receive an exemption of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.
