Indian Institute of Information and Technology, Bhopal commonly known as IIIT Bhopal founded in 2017 under the Indian Institute of Information Technology Act, 2017 under the Public Private Partnership Scheme. 

The institute was founded with the goal of fostering advanced knowledge in information technology and providing the IT sector, along with other related fields, with personnel who meet global standards. In order to do so, IIIT Bhopal offers B.Tech courses Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

IIIT Bhopal, being a new institution does not have a permanent campus. Currently, it is functioning from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. Although 60 acres of land has been granted for the construction of IIIT Bhopal's permanent campus in the city. 

IIIT Bhopal has three established departments, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Department of Information Technology and the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, offering B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA degree programs. 

In 2024 IIIT Bhopal recorded 82.82% placements with the highest package of 34.4 LPA, few of the industry top organizations visit IIIT Bhopal for recruitment, this year more than 40 companies like Amazon, Intuit, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Commvault, Delhivery, National Instruments, Synopsys, GEP, Buddi.ai, Jivox, Nextuple, Zebpay, Nagarro, Modak, Maq Software, Saggezza and more visited the campus.

IIIT Bhopal Admissions 2025

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhopal admits students through JEE Mains, GATE and NIMCET for its various programs. The candidates are supposed to appear for these exams for B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA degree programs. 

Further, the admission process is regulated through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/CSAB for B.Tech courses and CCMT counseling and NIMCET counseling for M.Tech and MCA courses respectively.  

The JEE registrations for the sessions are closed now. JEE Mains exams for session 2 are scheduled from 1 April to 8 April 2025.

IIIT Bhopal Placements

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhopal has recorded impressive placement results for the 2024 batch. The highest package was 34.4 LPA, offered by PayPal, while the average package stood at 10.53 LPA. A total of 47 students secured internship opportunities.

For Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), 53 out of 68 students were placed, achieving a 77.94% placement rate, with an average package of 14.70 LPA. The Information Technology (IT) branch had 52 students placed out of 55, leading to a 94.54% placement rate, with an average package of 10.53 LPA. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) saw 30 students placed out of 40, resulting in a 75% placement rate, with an average package of 10.53 LPA.

IIIT Bhopal Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhopal is currently functioning from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, it does not have a permanent campus as of now. However, 60 acres of land have been granted for the construction of IIIT Bhopal's permanent campus. 

Although IIIT Bhopal is functioning from a temporary campus it offers significant infrastructure and campus facilities to its students, like hostels, sports facilities, medical facilities, bank, post office and canteen, meeting the basic necessities of students.
