IBPS Clerk Exam 2026: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will release the detailed notification for the IBPS Clerk exam 2026 soon on the official website - ibps.in. The IBPS Clerk (Customer Service Associate) exam calendar for the academic year 2026-27 is available on its official website. As per the official calendar, the IBPS Clerk prelims exam 2026 will be conducted on October 10 and 11, 2026, and the main examination is set to take place on December 27, 2026. Along with the notice, the IBPS has also released some important points regarding the IBPS Clerk registration process 2026. The IBPS Clerk registration process 2026 will be through online mode only, and there will be a single registration for both the Preliminary and Main examinations.   

Along with the official notification, the authority will also release the IBPS Clerk Application Form 2026. Candidates who meet the requirements prescribed by the institute in the notification will be eligible to register for the IBPS Clerk Exam 2026. The registration dates will be announced soon. The institute will open the application correction facility for the Common Recruitment Process for Customer Service Associates (CRP CSA XV) after the conclusion of the application process, allowing candidates to make necessary corrections and resubmit the application form. Certain fields, including name, email ID, mobile number, state/UT in vacancy, state/UT in correspondence address, permanent address, post applied for, and nationality, cannot be modified during the correction facility.

For the previous eam cycle, the IBPS Clerk Prelims exam was conducted on October 4, 5, and 11. The admit card for the preliminary examination was announced on September 25. The institute extended the registration date till August 28, and the correction window was open on September 2. The IBPS registration window was initially open from August 1 to August 21. The IBPS Clerk Mains Result for the academic year 2025-26 was released on March 2, 2026.

IBPS Clerk Eligibility 2026

Candidates who are interested in applying for the IBPS CRP Clerk must fulfil the following eligibility criteria. They must note that the IBPS eligibility criteria specified are the basic criteria for appointment to the aforesaid posts in the Participating Banks.

Nationality / Citizenship:

As per the official notice, the candidate must be either of the following -

(i) a Citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS Clerk Application Form 2026

The IBPS clerk registration process will start soon in online mode. Eligible candidates can fill out their application forms through the official website - ibps.in. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria once before filling out the application form. If any candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, then he/she will be disqualified from the exam.

The IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2026 will be released along with the IBPS Clerk 2026 Notification at ibps.in. The IBPS Clerk preliminary exam will be held in an objective-type test in online mode. Generally, the exam pattern remains almost the same every year. Candidates can check the structure of the exam, as prescribed in the previous year's notification, below. 

IBPS Clerk 2026 Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2026 will be conducted for a total duration of 1 hour. The exam will have a total of 100 questions with a maximum of 100 marks. The prelims exam will have three tests, i.e., English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. 

Note - Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing the cutoff marks to be decided by the IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by IBPS, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for the online main exam.

The IBPS Clerk Mains Exam is divided into 4 tests, i.e., General/ Financial awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. The official IBPS Clerk Notification 2026 has not yet been released by the exam authority. The IBPS Clerk had revised and increased to a total of 13,533 positions under the CRP-CSA-XV recruitment cycle, according to an official notification on October 27. The initial notification had announced 10,277 vacancies, but after receiving updated manpower requirements from participating public sector banks, IBPS expanded the clerical cadre positions significantly. This increase of over 3,200 posts greatly improves the selection chances for candidates across various states.

Highest vacancy increments were reported from Uttar Pradesh (2346 posts), Bihar (748), West Bengal (992), Tamil Nadu (1161), Maharashtra (1144), and Karnataka (1248).
