IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech Admission
To be admitted to the B.Tech program, applicants must:
- Appear for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams
- Secure a qualifying score in both exams
- Participate in the JoSAA counseling process
- Once the counseling process is over, the institute will evaluate the candidates' performance based on their exam results
- If selected, the candidates will be required to pay the necessary fees to confirm their admission
IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Admission
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 on a 10-point scale in a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Science (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline. The minimum requirement is 50% marks for SC/ST candidates
- Candidates must have a valid GATE score (at the time of interview/written test) to be eligible for the M.Tech programme. However, GATE is not required for the PGDIIT programme
- B.Tech. graduates from the IITs with a CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to be admitted to the M.Tech programme without having to appear in GATE.
- The eligibility criteria mentioned above are the minimum requirements. The individual departments may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting candidates
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories are eligible for relaxations in the selection criteria, as per norms
Admission Process
- To apply for a regular MTech programme at IIT, candidates must have a COAP registration number, unless they have completed your BTech from an IIT
- Candidates will be required to accept their admission offer on the COAP portal
- Students who have done/doing their BTech from an IIT with a CPI of 8.0 or above are eligible to apply without a GATE score or COAP registration number
- However, if candidates do fill out their COAP registration number, their application will be processed as per COAP norms
- Admission to the MTech programme is generally offered on the basis of an interview and/or a written test
- The institute will invite a limited number of candidates for a written test (if any) and/or interview based on their academic records and/or GATE score
- The written test (if any) is generally based on topics related to general aptitude, engineering mathematics, and basic courses in various disciplines up to the 3rd year of the undergraduate program
