Rajkiya Govind Ballabh Pant Polytechnic (RGBP), Mohan Road, Lucknow, was established in 1967 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the Social Welfare Department. Founded in the post-independence era, the institution reflects the vision of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to promote social equality through education. The polytechnic was created with the objective of providing quality technical education to students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities, empowering them with practical skills, self-reliance, and equal opportunities to participate and grow in the technical and industrial sectors of the country.
