BHU Admission 2024: Check courses, eligibility criteria, selection process

BHU Admission 2024: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Admission 2024 portal for Registration and Counselling for all PG Courses are open till June 3, 2024, 2024. Candidates willing to apply for PG programmes can register themselves at bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in. The UG Admissions at BHU will start soon after the declaration of CUET result.

BHU is known for offering a diverse range of courses in multiple disciplines. From basic UG and PG courses to diploma and certificate programs and PhD level courses are all offered in BHU. The UG level courses include BA (Hons), B.Com (Hons), B.Sc (Hons), B.Ed, B.A.M.S, B.P.Ed, LLB, MBBS,B.Voc, BPA etc. At PG level the courses which are offered are M.A, MBA, M.Phil, M.Sc, MFA, LLM, M.Tech etc.

 As per BHU seat matrix 2023, a total of 5176 seats were offered for UG and PG Admissions which are further segregated into various BHU-affiliated colleges. The seat allocation process is done on the basis of the candidate's “Preference Order” and merit.

Admission to any of the courses are based on different national-level and university-level entrance exams, CUET UG, CUET PG, BHU UET , BHU PET, BHU RET, BHU BSc Nursing EXAM, BHU BPT, Pre - Medical TEST.

Candidates willing to take admission in Banaras Hindu University must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria in different domains. For UG courses candidates require a minimum 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 pattern with relevant disciplines while for PG candidates must have a Bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 50% aggregate marks with relevant subjects. However the final selection will be on the basis of the scores of CUET PG in respective disciplines followed by a cut-off list merit  and counselling process to the final Fees submission.

Among all the courses offered by BHU, MBA is one of the most renowned ones with 52 seats in the main campus and admission to MBA considers the CAT scores along with fulfilling basic eligibility criteria.

BHU Admission 2024: Courses

BHU offers multiple courses at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. These courses come with various specialisations. Candidates can have a look for these courses and specialisations in the table below:

BHU UG Admission 2024

Banaras Hindu University  offers a four-year UG program for both Honors and Research, namely UG Honors and UG Honors with Research. Only 10% of students with a CGPA of 7.5 and above will be permitted to select UG Honors with Research based on merit. All UG courses will be Eight Semesters or Four Years Course with exit options as per National Education Policy 2020 norms. BHU will be taking admissions on the basis of CUET cutoff 2024. 

BHU UG Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria:

• For Admission to BA

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. 

• For Admission to B.Sc

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the subjects Physics, Chemistry

Agriculture

Passed 10+2/Intermediate examination in Agriculture or in Science (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology) OR equivalent examination recognized by the University, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate

• For Admission to B.Com

Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Commerce / Economics / Maths / Computer Science / Finance / Financial Markets Management / Vocational Courses (related to commerce) as one of the subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must have passed in the concerned subject.

• For Admission to BA LLB

Applicant who has successfully completed/ is appearing in Senior Secondary School (10+2) 

NOTE- the applicant who has obtained 10+2 or Graduation/Post-graduation through open Universities System directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies shall not be eligible for admission to 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Course. 

• For Admission to B.Tech

Passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) with English from a Board/University recognized by the Institute/Board with at least 50% marks or equivalent G.P.A. in aggregate.

• For Admission to B.A.(Hons)

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.

B.A.(Hons)Shastri

Passed 10+2 or equivalent Examination securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.Sanskrit must be one of the subjects in the concerned examination and the candidate should have passed in this subject also. 

BHU UG Admission 2024: Selection Criteria 

Admission to the mentioned undergraduate programs relies on scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) - UG exam. Following the BHU ranking, eligible candidates participate in a counselling process to secure their admission.

BHU PG Admission 2024

• For Admission to MA

The subject in which admission is sought must have been studied in all the three years at undergraduate level.

• For Admission to M.Sc

B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (considering all the three years of B.Sc.Course). The subject in which admission is sought must be Hons. subject at B.Sc.(Hons.) level/a subject studied in all the three years at Graduate level

• For Admission to M.Com

B.Tech. (Agricultural Engg./Civil Engineering.)/B.E.(Agricultural Engg./Civil Engineering) recognized by the University. 

• For Admission to LLM

3-Year LL.B. after Graduation under 10+2+3 pattern or 5-year (Integrated) LL.B. under 10+2+5 pattern recognized by the Bar Council of India securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in LL. B. 3 year/ 5 year (Integrated) Degree.

Diary Technology

 10+2+4 year undergraduate degree is essential. 2. Candidates with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) OR B.Sc.(Dairy Technology)/Dairying/Dairy Science OR B.Sc (Food Technology/Food Science)/B.Tech.

Agriculture Engineering

B.Tech. (Agricultural Engg./Civil Engineering.)/B.E.(Agricultural Engg./Civil Engineering) recognized by the University.

• For admission to MCA

Obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 on a 10 - point scale 55% marks in aggregate.

BHU PG Admission 2024: Selection Criteria 

Admission to the mentioned Postgraduate  programs are done on the basis of scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) - PG  exam. Following the BHU ranking, eligible candidates participate in a counselling process to secure their admission.

BHU B.Tech Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) with English from a Board/University recognized by the Institute/Board with at least 50% marks or equivalent G.P.A. in aggregate.

Selection Criteria - The Final Selection will be on the basis of CUET - PG Scores.

BHU MBA Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern OR equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Selection Criteria - The Final Selection will be on the basis of CAT Scores and Academic Eligibility.

BHU LLB Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Applicant who has successfully completed/ is appearing in Senior Secondary School (10+2) 

NOTE- the applicant who has obtained 10+2 or Graduation/Post-graduation through open Universities System directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies shall not be eligible for admission to 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Course. 

Selection Criteria - The Final Selection will be on the basis of CUET-UG Scores and Academic Eligibility.

BHU MBBS Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - students must have passed the 10 + 2 or equivalent examinations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English. 

Selection Criteria - The Final Selection will be on the basis of NEET Scores and Academic Eligibility.

BHU PhD Admission 2024

Eligibility Criteria - Post-graduate in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades. All things being equal, students having a P.G. degree in language/ literature/linguistics shall have preference.

For any Specific Discipline , candidates must have specialisation in the respective discipline in their Master’s. They should also have appeared in the UGC NET examination.
