The Eastern Railway has initiated its recruitment process for the Apprentice position, and it officially commenced on September 27, 2023. Prospective candidates have until October 26, 2023, to complete their registrations. While General, OBC, and EWS applicants are required to pay a registration fee of INR 100/-, those belonging to reserved categories and female candidates are exempt from this fee.

Candidates aspiring to join the Eastern Railway must meet certain eligibility criteria. Specifically, they must hold a 10th-grade qualification to be eligible for the apprentice position. The Eastern Railway has announced a total of 3115 vacancies across its four divisions and three workshops. Successful candidates, upon selection, will receive a monthly salary in accordance with government rules and regulations. The starting monthly salary is estimated to be around INR 20,000.

Eastern Railway Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by every candidate who wish to be recruited for the post of Apprentice in the Eastern Railway. Interested aspirants can check the eligibility criteria below:

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must be 10th pass in order to apply for the exam.
• Candidate should have National Trade Certificate or State Trade Certificate

Age Limit

• The minimum and maximum age limit to apply for the post of apprentice in the Eastern Railway is 15-24 years.
• Candidates from OBC category receive an age relaxation of 3 years.
• Candidates from SC/ST category receive an age relaxation of 5 years.

Eastern Railway Recruitment: Exam Pattern

Aspiring students are recruited on the basis of their performance in the Class 10. A merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Class 10 and accordingly, they are called for the document verification process. 

After the completion of the document verification process, the final merit list is prepared based on which the selected candidates are offered job offer letter.

• Now, you'll see a series of buttons. Click on "Click to Proceed Further."
• Next, you'll need to select the specific trade you're interested in and then click "Continue."
• To get started with your application, you'll need to register using your active email ID and mobile number.
• Make sure to fill in all the information requested in the application form accurately.
• If any documents are required, you'll need to scan and upload them as part of your application.
• After you've completed all the necessary steps, click the "Submit" button.
• Keep in mind that you'll be required to pay the application fee of INR 100/- online.
