Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The selection process for the post of Central Railway Apprentice has been explained below:
Selection Criteria for Apprenticeship
Selection will be based on a merit list prepared for all eligible candidates. The merit list will be prepared based on the following criteria:
- Percentage of marks in matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks)
- Percentage of marks in ITI in the trade for which the apprenticeship is sought
The merit list will be prepared by calculating the simple average of the marks obtained in matriculation and ITI.
Calculation of Percentage of Marks
- For matriculation, marks obtained in all subjects will be reckoned
- For ITI, the average marks mentioned in the consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the trade applied or the marks mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT will be reckoned.
In Case of Tie
If two candidates have the same marks, the following criteria will be used to determine the higher merit rank:
- Older age
- Earlier date of passing the matriculation exam
Final Merit List
A final merit list will be prepared cluster/unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise, equal to the number of slots available. The candidates will be ranked in descending order of percentage of marks obtained.
Document Verification
The candidates finally enlisted in the merit list will be required to get their documents verified by the concerned authorities within the stipulated time.
