BITS Pilani Quick Update:

BITS Pilani has started the registration process for BITSAT 2024 on its official website. BITSAT exam is conducted for admission to B.Tech/B.E program at BITS Pilani and other campuses. The last date to apply for BITSAT session 1 exam is April 11, 2024. BITSAT session 2 registration will start from May 22, 2024, and will continue till June 10, 2024.

BITSAT Session 1 exam date 2024 is May 21 to May 26, 2024. BITSAT Session 2 exam date 2024 is June 22 to June 26, 2024.

BITS Pilani Admission 2024: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is currently accepting applications for admission to the B.Sc (Computer Science) program for the January 2024 cohort. The deadline for program applications is November 02, 2023. The institute is also open for applications for the PhD admission 2024, with the application deadline set for November 25, 2023.

In addition to the B.Sc (Computer Science) and PhD programs, BITS Pilani has initiated the application process for admissions to MTech, BTech, MBA, MSc, and PG Diploma courses designed for working professionals. The application deadline for these programs is December 11, 2023. Prospective candidates should ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the respective courses.

BITS Pilani's flagship program is a 5-year integrated B.E/B.Tech program. Admission to the B.E program is based on candidates' BITSAT scores and their eligibility, requiring a minimum of 75% marks in class XII. The tuition fee for the B.E program at BITS Pilani is INR 13,50,500, excluding the INR 4,72,400/- summer term fee.

BITS Pilani is currently accepting applications for its 2024 admissions, offering a range of courses. BITS Pilani Admission 2024: First Degree Integrated Programs

BITS Pilani offers B.E, M.Sc, B.Pharm as First Degree Integrated Programs. There are three modes of admission in integrated First Degree programs at BITS Pilani: (A) Through the BITSAT-2022 Scheme, (B) Through the Board Topper's scheme, and (C) Through the International Students' admission Scheme.

Below are the eligibility criteria for BITS Pilani admissions through BITSAT 2024:

• The applicant must have achieved a minimum combined score of 75% in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (if Mathematics was chosen in BITSAT) or a minimum combined score of 75% in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (if Biology was selected in BITSAT) during their 12th-grade examination. Additionally, they should have attained at least 60% in each of the individual subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
• Only students who will be taking the 12th-grade examination in 2024 or have already completed it in 2023 are qualified to take the BITSAT-2024 examination.
• To be eligible for admission to all Integrated First-Degree Programs, excluding B. Pharm, applicants must have successfully completed the 12th-grade examination under the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board, or an equivalent qualification. They should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with demonstrating a sufficient level of proficiency in English.
• To secure admission to the B. Pharm program, applicants must have cleared the 12th-grade examination under the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board, or an equivalent qualification. They should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics, along with displaying a satisfactory level of proficiency in English.

BITS Pilani Admission 2024: Higher Degree Programmes

Note: Applicants accepted through the GATE / GPAT programs will qualify for a monthly tuition fee waiver of Rs. 13,400, in addition to the scholarships they receive from GATE / GPAT. All other students enrolled in the HD program will be entitled to a monthly stipend of Rs. 13,400. This fee waiver or stipend will be provided in exchange for 8 to 10 hours of work per week. The criteria for eligibility for fellowships will follow the Institute's established norms.

BITS Pilani PhD Admission 2024

BITS Pilani offers PhD programs in different specialisations. The selection process includes the application process, written examination, and the interview. Eligible students are required to fill out the detailed application form basis on which they will be called for the written test. The institute then releases the merit list of candidates selected for the interview round. A final merit list is released by institute for granting admission to the PhD course.

BITS Pilani PhD Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold at least one of the following qualifications with a minimum aggregate score of 60% in the qualifying examination:

• M.E., M.Tech., M.Pharm., MBA, M.Phil., or an equivalent degree
• M.Sc., B.E., B.Pharm., or an equivalent degree

For admissions to programs in Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates should have an M.A. degree with a minimum aggregate score of 55%

BITS Pilani PhD Selection Process

BITS Pilai PhD selection process includes:

• Online Application
• Written Test
• Interview

Written Test: All candidates selected for the written test have to write two papers. The first paper is common for all candidates, while the second paper is will be subject-based. The exam pattern for both paper 1 and paper 2 is as follows:

Paper 1: Paper I comprises 30 multiple-choice questions covering topics such as General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude. The time allotted for Paper I is 1 hour. Each correct response earns 2 marks, and there is a penalty of 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer.

Paper 2: Paper II will be focused on the candidate's chosen subject and will include 70 multiple-choice questions based on the relevant syllabus provided on Page 9. The duration of Paper II may vary, lasting either 1 or 2 hours. Correct responses will receive 2 marks, and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Note: Candidates with M.Phil. / M.E. / M.Tech. or with National level fellowships like CSIR NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, UGC NET-JRF etc. are exempted from writing the above test.

BITS Pilani PhD Fee Structure 2024

Note: PhD students enrolled in the full-time PhD program can be considered for an Institute fellowship during their first year. The amount of the fellowship, either Rs. 28,000 or Rs. 31,000 per month, is determined by their qualifications at the time of admission. Those admitted with an M.E., M.Tech., M.Pharm., MBA, M.Phil., or an equivalent degree are eligible for the higher Institute fellowship of Rs. 31,000.
