UGC NET Result 2024 for December Session – Check Qualification criteria and Minimum marks required

The National Testing Agency will release the UGC NET December Session results anytime soon. Candidates can check their results on the official website by logging in with their credentials. Also, along with the result, the NTA will be releasing the UGC NET scorecard.

UGC NET December Result 2024 can be released anytime soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA). UGC NET result 2024 expected date is third or fourth week of February 2025. The direct link to download the result for the UGC NET exam 2024 is ugcnet.nta.ac.in. To qualify the UGC NET December Exam 2024, candidates have to meet the qualification criteria and obtain the minimum passing marks prescribed by NTA. However, qualification does mean that candidate will be eligible for the position of Assistant Professor or JRF. To pass the exam, aspirant has to meet the UGC NET Cut off 2024 for their respective subject.

UGC NET Result 2024 December

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for the declaration of the UGC NET result 2024. NTA will release the result along with the scorecard. Candidates who are waiting for the results can check the procedure for the preparation of the results. Given below are the following steps–

Step 1. Qualification Percentage:

  • 6% of candidates who appeared in both NET papers, based on their Master’s Degree or equivalent, will be eligible for Assistant Professor qualification.

Step 2. Reservation Allocation:

  • Slots will be allocated to various categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, Third Gender) as per the Government of India’s reservation policy.

Step 3. Minimum Marks Requirement:

  • General/EWS: At least 40% aggregate marks in both papers.
  • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, Third Gender): At least 35% aggregate marks in both papers.

Step 4. Qualification Criteria

The number of candidates who will be declared qualified in any subject for a specific category is calculated using the formula below.

  • According to the aforementioned example, the UGC NET cut-off for the eligibility of Assistant Professor in Economics for the SC category is decided by the aggregate percentage of the two papers corresponding to the number of slots arrived. Further, to decide the subject-wise qualifying cutoff for all categories, the same formula is used.

  •  Only those candidates will be considered for the JRF who have applied for the JRF and Assistant Professor eligibility out of the total number of qualified candidates

Step 6 

  • As per the reservation policy of the Government of India, the slots that are available for awarding the JRF are assigned to different categories.

Candidates must note that UGC NET results will be prepared after the normalization procedure based on the percentile score. This method ensures that no candidate is unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged because of the difficulty level of the exam. 

UGC NET RESULT 2024 – Steps to Download

UGC NET 2024 result will be published along with the scorecard on its official website. Candidates can log in to ugcnet.nta.ac.in with their login credentials. Below are the given steps to download the result –

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of UGC NET.
  • On the homepage, students can find the link “UGC NET result 2024”
  • Candidates need to enter the details as asked and click on “submit” button
  • UGC NET result will be displayed on the screen
  • Download the result and take a printout for future reference.
