For each seat allotment round, candidates will get the opportunity to either freeze, float, or slide. Check these in detail below:

Float

If a candidate wishes to accept the allotted seat, but is also open to switching in the next round, they can choose the option to float.

Freeze

Candidates who wish to lock the allotted seat to them and not make any further changes can choose the option to freeze. With this process, candidates can pay the admission fee and confirm their admission to the allotted college and course.

Slide

This option is for candidates who are willing to accept admission to the allotted course and institute, but are also willing to switch courses in the same institute if they get a better option based on their preferences.

In case candidates do not get the course or institute of their choice, they can choose to withdraw from the JoSAA counselling process.
