The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NJUS) is situated in Bidhannagar, Kolkata (West Bengal). It was established under the WBNUJS Act, 1999 which is also known as (West Bengal Act IX, of 1999). The University Grant Commission (UGC) recognizes the university in accordance with subsection 2(f) and section 12-b. The Bar Council of India (BCI) is associated with the BA LLB and BSc LLB.
The University has ranked 3rd in the law category according to the NIRF report 2024, and it has been recognized with the SILF-MILAT Institutional Excellence Award in the legal studies field. Apart from this, the campus area of the university is spread over 3025.75 sq metres including separate hostels for both girls and boys, staff quarters, conference rooms, and a guest house.
The NJUS campus has the facilities of air-conditioned classrooms for students, seminar halls, conference rooms, moot court, etc.

NUJS NLU Entrance Exam Eligibility 2025
Firstly, students have to fill out the form of eligibility for appearing in the entrance examination. The university accepts entrance exams such as CLAT, UGC- NET/JRF, M Phil, etc. Admission is then granted based on the results of the final selection procedure, which consists of a personal interview of the candidates.
- Candidates who wish to be admitted in UG Programmes, need to pass 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 45% marks, and for SC/ST 40% marks are required along with this they need to crack the CLAT entrance examination
- For PG Programme, candidates need to pass a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks, and for SC/ST 45% marks are required
- For PhD Programmes candidates need to pass a master’s degree with 55% marks and SC/ST/OBC 50% marks is required and the applicants who have qualified for UGC NET / JRF / SLET /M. Phil Degrees are exempted from the Entrance Test but need to clear an interview.
