As per the notice released by NBEMS on August 10, NEET PG result 2024 will be prepared using the normalization process currently being used by AIIMS, New Delhi for INI-CET exam. The normalization technique will be implemented while calculating the result to reduce ties. If, however, there is a case of unavoidable tie of scores, the authorities will use the tie breaking criteria.

NEET PG normalization procedure explained

NBEMS will prepare the NEET PG result based on the performance of the candidates and the normalization process being used by the AIIMS, New Delhi authorities. Each top scoring candidate will be allotted 100 percentile in NEET PG 2024. The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored the same or lower raw scores than that particular percentile. This implies that the highest scorer of each shift will get the percentile of 100. The marks obtained between the highest and lowest scores are then converted to the suitable percentiles.

Check the normalization details explained below:

  • The percentile scores will be calculated to 7 decimal places to avoid and reduce ties.
  • For example, if the highest score in shift 1 is 80%, highest score in shift 2 is 82%, and highest score in shift 3 is 79%, all the highest scores will be normalized to percentile 100 for their respective shift.
